Synopsis

Otaku Sakamichi Onoda has just entered high school and plans to join the anime club. In middle school, Onoda didn’t have any friends with whom he could talk about anime, games, Akihabara and other otaku things, and he is hoping he can make such friends in the anime club, but he finds out it's been disbanded. In order to reestablish the club he tries to find 4 other people who would like to join.

Since he was a little boy, Onoda has ridden his mamachari—a bulky bicycle with a step-through frame mainly used for short rides, such as for casual fun or to pick up groceries—to go to Akihabara every week to check out or buy otaku things. Fellow freshman Shunsuke Imaizumi and bicyclist, while training, notices a boy (Onoda) riding his mamchari up a steep road.

Freshman and road racing cyclist, Shokichi Naruko visits Akihabara to get some Gundam plastic models for his younger brothers and meets Onoda who catches his attention because of the his cycling skill on the mamachari and later find out they go to the same school. Later on, both Naruko and Imaizumi try to convince him to join the bicycle racing club, but will he?

I've watched the PV. Looks interesting. But dear lord this is the fourth sports series I'm going to be watching this season. This is gonna be joining Hajime no Ippo, Ace of the Diamond, and Wanna Be the Strongest in the World on my viewing list.

Confirmed 3-cours. 13 BD/DVD volumes with three episodes each(Amazon.jp shows a runtime of 69 minutes for each volume) so 39 episodes.

Ok, not half-bad so far, unrealized talent developed because of a different interest. No way he winds up with the girl though, right? Right? This one stays in.

it was actually pretty fun to watch, something about the characters (Shunsuke singing the song at the end just lol)

Onoda is also just silly fun as well

Yeah, really fun episode. The key to any sports anime is a great cast of characters(as nearly all of them follow the same plot line structure, with a few changes at various parts), and already Yowapeda has a pretty damn good cast lined up. Also those other two teams shown in the ending look interesting as well, especially the team that has that guy with the crazy face.

yep this is a keeper.
First episode was a lot of fun and left me wondering how long it took him to get to Akiba and back

I find Sports anime strangely addictive, ever since Eyeshield. There is just something fun about watching a kid discover his talent and the rivalries that he makes doing so.

No fate of the world, no Good and Evil just good honest competition (with the occasional cheater team who get brutally face stomped and learn their lesson)

Not only that but sports anime tend to be nice fantasies for me, because I was pretty athletic in high school, but was too lazy to try out for any sports teams so I always have that, "What if?" type regret, but sports anime allow me to lose myself in a bit of wish fulfillment.

Okay, had a go at this one. Not really my thing, so I think this is as far as I go, but I get the feeling it'll be big here at CR for a while.

And, yeah, sometimes people sing in the shower. Heh!

finally watched tonight and I was cracking up so many times, maybe becuase I connected with Onoda's utakoness

This is it. The most entertaining episode 1 of all the titles I have seen so far for this season. Got me wanting to know more so I end up reading the manga , a lot of chapters , so now I am so ahead but its exciting.

Dang I can wait for those pages to get animated.
I think the next character, Naruko, will be Fukuyama Jun's. love that seiyuu but I doubt we will see him in t episode 2 though . Toriumi as Imaishi is awesome, mr attitute intense cyclist.I do prefer his character design in the anime .

Speaking about bikes and stuff, I never owned one as a kid , but when i was in 6th grade or middle school , my brother build a mountain bike and I only get to ride it when I was asked to go the store a couple kilometer away from the house to buy something lol ... yeap I grew up in a place and time where kids has duties to do and go to school by themselves but I remember being on that bike high off the ground , dont remember if there were gears lol.
