I've begun re-watching Non Non Biyori from episode 1, does anybody notice anything strange?

Here's a hint.
Much Non, very Non, so Biyori, wow

In literal words it means "no no weather". But of course that makes no sense at all, and so it must be some sort of colloquialism or a local dialect that is sort of lost in translation to those of us who aren't immersed in the culture. So, I'm going to speculate on a couple interpretations that seem to make at least a small bit of sense to me, but I'm certainly no expert on Japanese; these might be wildly wrong and just the streams of consciousness of a mind slowly going senile...

Theory one: it means "The end of the rainbow", as in the magic place you seek which will grant you all your wishes and dreams for a happy life. I base this partly on how serene life in this small community is, the sort of place you could be happy to live in peace with no strife from the rest of the world intruding. A rich place, indeed. Part of my guess comes from the opening theme title "Nanairo Biyori" which has been translated elsewhere as "rainbow-colored day". The "rainbow" part made me try to consider all sorts of weather-related terms which might be applicable.

My second theory is less colorful, but similar in theme, something like "The end of the storm". Not literally weather, but somewhere you would go to live in a tranquil setting away from the stress and frenzy of a highly populated area such as a large city, which would be bombarded with politics, danger of criminal element, etc.

Y'all can feel free to mock me or offer better guesses, but these make the most sense to me right now.

If anyone mocks you, they're a jerk. I just wanted to say that. :)

Anywho, based on your literal translation, here's my speculation. When I saw the translation "No no weather," the honest to God first thing that popped into my head was "that's perfect." As you said, it obviously makes little sense as a direct translation. My guess is going to stay a little closer to the literal translation, and it is this: "Little Weather." (Little as in, not a lot; rather than small.)

Now, obviously, that doesn't directly fit what we've seen in the show (the changes in season and the like), but if you think of weather as something that represents change, it makes some sense.

I guess mine kind of fits in with your theme, but I clearly have no evidence to back up my guess.

For me this is my sleeper hit of the season. I don't know why it draws me so much maybe its the refreshing atmosphere or its beautiful animation. Whatever it is god I hope for a second season. Also you can see my review of it.

when most shows get updated, I usually try to wait a few days before watching, if for no other reason to make it seem like the next episode is coming quicker. Not this one, new episode comes on and it gets top priority on the watch list. Really going to miss it after the next episode ends.

Episode 12 - Finale

Wait, wait, it's the last episode?!

Can't believe it has to end, it's been such a great and relaxing show. Also Koma-chan x Hotaru forever.

I'm still amazed with this show: laughs were had, wet eyes were had, just invoking all the feels.

I'm going to miss it 10 out of 10

Final ep was nice. Very cute. I'm definitely gonna miss this, and will probably rate it 7/10. Hope the rumors about speculation of a second season were true; this show's beating pretty much everything in preorders.

The ending was a little weird though. It was kind of like: "Okay, it's happening and....now it's over bye."

Really going to miss watching this every week. Overall was a very nice series with very likeable characters. Going to miss Renge's meownings. Also liked seeing fiddleheads in the last episode as they are delicious.

I'd love to see a second season at some point if possible.
