Probably Naruto or Death Note. Possibly Bleach as well. Idk, you'll get annoying people anywhere, hell, I think the worst people are the "Anime used to be better, so everything made now sucks," people. You know what I'm talking about. . .

Naruto/Naruto Shippuden
Bleach
Dragonball Z
One Piece

All they do is complain about fillers, episodes dragging on forever, repetitive plots, pairing wars, etc..

Every anime show will have outrageous fans, but if i'd pick some:

DBZ: nostalgia has completely blinded so many of them, it's hard to even have a conversation.

Naruto: Just because of the prime spot it has in the U.S, and fans refuse to watch anything else.

SAO: There was very very little redeeming quality to this show at all! Probably the worst overrated show i've seen.

Fairy Tail: Natsu must be included in everything. Plus it just recycles already overused tropes.

Neon Genesis Evangleion: Yep. I said it. Also one of the most disappointing series i've seen. It leaves way too much up in the air.

Cowboy Bebop: I can understand this one to a certain extent, but it is just treated as untouchable too often.

Most other series with rowdy fanbases have good reason for their views (like Attack on Titan & One Piece), so they tend to be more reasonable.

Honestly with everyone I know, DBZ is simply acknowledged as being a staple of our childhood. Whether it was good or bad is irrelevant, pretty much everybody watched it. So instead of debating whether or not it was "good" or "bad" if we are ever talking about DBZ it is usually a kind of debate or overly analytical diatribe over power levels, certain events, and what not. There's almost no point in trying to call it good or bad, because nothing you can say can change the fact it basically was one of the vehicles for what anime is today.

Naruto : It's overly popular with westerners for some reason, I kind of want to shake them all and say "You know...there are other shows?". So the single minded-ness of this fan base bothers me because while it's great that it appears to be an easy entry-level anime for most folks of all ages, it doesn't help anime much in the long run if it's the only damn thing they ever watch.

Fairy Tale : This show is just bad, and I will never understand why it's popular...it's a blatant OP copy with a different coat of paint, intended to be masked as kicking up a new franchise (which it did because IMO people are saps). I've watched enough of it to have my own opinion on it.

If you like School Days you do not deserve to call yourself an anime fan.

Gurren Lagann : Okay. I don't mind this show at all. It's decently entertaining, and I love Kill la Kill, but it is spoken a bit too highly of for what it is, and I feel it really speaks to the IQ of the masses of human beings who watch any kind of entertainment. Like, if you try to watch this show with any semblance of common sense it's nigh impossible to enjoy, and that should be reason enough to justify disliking it, but not to the obsessors...no...it's just oh my god epic so awesome. Why...? Why is it so good? The only possible reason it could be so epic is that you enjoy random and illogical transformation ascensions every single episode, ridiculously over-done plot and character arcs...I mean...the anime is good. It's pretty good but by no means do I want all anime to be like GL. No way, no how.

I'm in agreement with those above who think that people who hate on the SAO crowd are now geezers. I haven't seen someone fan boy over SAO since the damn show ended, and all I do is see people bitch and cry on the forums about how people who like it are annoying. I assure you, I'm active in the anime community and I've yet to see someone passionately rave over SAO since before the show stopped airing, so I don't even understand what these folks even bitch about anymore.

Worst fanbase? Probably the Anime Hipsters. You know the people who don't even finish popular anime and quickly move on to something that hasn't gained a following yet, just so they can dump it and rip on it. It's pretty much everyone on this thread. Get over it, people like anime you probably haven't finished, haven't watched in ten years or just aren't interested in. You're worse than any fanbase.

Well, on the other extreme end is the super otaku as well. Those that if you don't like what they like, consider you not an anime fan and force their taste onto others. I have seen it with multiple shows where people are such fans that the way and meaning that they got from the show is the only way, and any slight change is a ruin to the show. (discussions about the AoT creator discussing ending changes)

In some ways, I am the anime hipster, with the exception of I don't like alot of popular series just because I didn't enjoy it or lost interest.

Super Otaku's are bad but at least their annoying anger is positive. They like their show to the extreme and say only positive thing about it. Anime Hipsters hate everything popular and only say negative things. They purposely look for flaws and don't try to enjoy it. Anime is made for entertainment purposes, not to start some battle of epic proportions. Unless that battle is having every anime character fight to the death, I'd watch that.

I am picking two anime bases that stick their two cents into some threads with little or no merit just to say their anime is the best or post something or not on topic!

AOT Some of them think being a complete nerd is cool! Not everybody but enough to be annoying!

Free Some really annoying fans there.Again posting on threads like Free is the only anime!Again probally just a few but enough!

BTW if you are a real anime fan and post you know who is good or not!Yes there will be different views but the debate is much more valid!

Hiya, I don't know if my brain is just misfiring or what, but not exactly sure what you are saying here. Are you saying that a real anime fan when posting to debate will substantiate their reasons as to why, where the bad fandom will just say XX sux, YY rulz?

Ie to have your everybody popping in about Attack on titan, my praise for AoT comes to the fluid animations, the way character development is done naturally, and an absolutely fantastic musical soundtrack in the mix.

The AoT manga on the other hand I found the art to be simplistic and uses many basic novice techniques giving it an overall amateurish finish. Surprized me actually since I saw the anime before I checked out the manga.

Completely agree with the first half of your statement. While annoying, a positive attitude is always better. However, the second half (looking for flaws, battle, something beyond entertainment) alas belongs to both groups.

The hipster will pick at the story meaning, or art, and things like that. I find the super otaku will hate something or argue based on things such as lore incontinuities, Sounds, style or story emulating other shows, etc. Maybe those guys are super otaku hipsters? I cannot think of a specific example, but I have ended up being argued that such and such show sucks because A-B makes no sense for some obscure fiction reason and so and so is just like so and so from some long run series of past.

Maybe it is a twist of that live long enough to be a villain thing. "You either quit being an otaku, or squee long enough to become the hipster"

I think the"real'" problem here is the fact that topics like this even get made. Who cares what a shows' fanbase is like, have you people nothing better to do? Conversely just because the show is popular does not mean it is good either, if it's popular then it just means a lot of people have the same mental deficiency right?..... I'm just kiddin', lets stop arguing over who has the worst fans when we all know it's the "moetards" fault anyway!......I sincerely apologize to any "moetards" out there . Besides we all know the greatest anime ever made was Strike Witches season one and two, and they so deserve all the pant-less hype they get..........

The difference is that Hipsters go and look up just enough information to use as an argument. Otakus just spout nonsense. But I like your Dark Knight theory. That's probably how it happens.

*Sigh* I'll never understand threads like these. If you don't like something and someone else does, why do you have to try and force your negativity on them? It's fine to dislike shows but is it really necessary to go out of your way to convince other people that they should hate it too? Just let people enjoy the things they enjoy! I mean, seriously. Some of the reasons given here don't even mention the fans and only say how overrated the show is, and not whether the fans are bad or not. It really amazes me that some people don't have the common sense to realise that people have different tastes. We should just accept that we all like different things!

Well, that's enough naive optimism for today. I'll just go crawl back in my cave, shielded from the ridiculous reality of the world.
