what comes in to your mind when you hear the word EXAM or when you failed in exam?

I just hear a ringing noise in the distance of someone whispering HSC /traumatised. I now seriously cannot watch a movie without analysing it with techniques and themes and assumptions /dies.

Exam is always threatening to have an abortion if I don't step it up.

I mean it's just so haaaaard, I don't want to stay up all night.

So demanding... *enter best cry ever*

I've never failed an exam or even got down to a C..just saying :).

Not something I used to be proud of since I have a terrible memory when it comes to things I don't go back and exercise on.

When I hear the word "exam", I get shaken up but then I just realize I put a lot of time into studying for it so I calm myself down and hit it like a truck.

Think positive. If failure happens, TRY AGAIN.

I was never really good at the whole studying thing, or doing HW for that matter.

I always went to class though, i can say during my 5 years in college, i probably skipped maybe 4 or 5 classes. I Always paid attention in class, asked questions and made sure i understood what had been covered that day in lecture before leaving. The action of taking notes and writing down the key points the professor was making was usually enough to do well in tests during high school and college It helped me remember the main points, such as a specific sequence on a metabolic or gene expression pathway. If there was some kind of study guide, i would go over it, fill it out completely, the put it away until right before the test, and then reading over my own answers and then that was it. The only tests I actually studied for were organic and inorganic chem tests, mostly because those felt more about memorization of compound characteristics instead of understanding mechanisms and why things worked the way they did. For those I would usually put a good 2 or 3 hours of studying the night before the test.

The only test i failed was one that i got confused on when the test was. The class had night tests for some ungodly reason, and 4 out of the 5 tests where on Thursday nights, except the 4th test, which was on a Tuesday night. I mistakenly assumed it was that Thursday and did not find out i had missed the test until the next day, when the teacher sent out an email telling students when they could expect their scores to be posted. Lets just say i was very, very upset. Started doing all kinds of calculations to see what score i needed on my final to pass. Luckily i had done relatively well on the other tests and managed to scrape by with a C+ on that class.

Being on the other end of the equation, I have several thoughts when the word "Exam" comes up:

1-I have to correct a pile of them
2-The semester is passing another milestone
3-I will feel better after correcting them

The results of exams, that's another story.

"Crap! Maybe there will at least be a tedious essay question I can do well on...." Is what goes on in my head, and I'm one of those types that normally does better on essay questions than multiple choice or short answer type stuff.

When spelled in all caps, I think of that video game company that makes Arcana Heart. You know... that game that no one in America plays. ;_;
