Looking through what's popular i see a mixture of anime that has been going on for multiple seasons (Naruto, Bleach, Hunter X Hunter) as well as Anime that end after about 25-40 episodes (Sword Art Online, blue exorcist, Gargantia on the verduous planet)

Which type do you prefer and why? what anime would u recommend to back up your preference?

For me personally i like the the short animes because they end before i grow tired of the characters or i feel its drawn to far out. also i feel there's generally less filler.

top 5
Cowboy Bebop
Durarara!!
Samurai Champloo
Outlaw Star

When It is a good anime 100+ especially the ones that end like there is going to be a new season, and then it never happens!!

Personally I enjoy the short anime more, I like it when the story is brief but makes an impact.

Plus the anime that do get an addition usually aren't too good -.- (Death Note, Black Butler) but of course this doesn't apply to all.

It would really depend on the situation, I like a few anime's that are 100+ eps and I have only seen seen a few of 10-15 eps anime's. My favorite are the 24-36 eps because Its a great length for character and world building.

I would say the 100+ eps would be

Pokemon
One Piece

My 24-40 eps would be, (There are more but these are the ones that I never forgot.)

Twelve kingdoms,
Sao,
Aot,
Fate/Stay night (Yes I prefer this one over Fate/Zero)
K-On
Mobile Suit Gudam 00

Few 10-12 eps for me

Black Rock Shooter,
Day Break Illusions,
Is this A zombie,
Prisma Illya,
Seitokai Yakuino.

I usually can't watch 100+ episode anime because it's just TOO LONG. I don't want to waste away watching a show that I don't even know will be finished anytime soon.

It really doesn't matter to me.

12-14 episode animes are very hard to pull off because you have to put character development and story into such a small space. The only anime that has done this perfectly to me is Madoka Magica.

However, I prefer short anime over long ones anyday. No story needs 100+ episodes to finish, it is ridiculous. It is dilution and it never makes for a consistently great story.

Depends.

Some shows are too damn long and run WAY past their prime. They just drag out endlessly... stuffed to the gills with filler episodes or cliche hot springs OVAs. Most are just vehicles to sell the franchise or CD's or various useless merchandise (cards, unicorn blood, plushies, etc.).

Other shows are too damn short. They're cut down either in their prime or way before any possible resolution. The writing is tight, the characters are awesome, and the story is engaging, but alas, the budget or source material is only enough for 13-26 episodes. And we're suffering and left longing for more.

I prefer a show that runs as long as necessary to tie up all relationships, sub-plots, and resolutions. Whether that's 100+ episodes or 13 doesn't matter much to me.

I just don't want to watch a zombie show that should have ended 50-episodes ago or waste my time on a short show that ends with nothing resolved.

Ooph, depends. I follow Naruto to an extent, but would probably have enjoyed it a lot more if I'd begun watching from when it started. Now I'd feel compelled to focus on all the already released episodes and I would probably drop it. I've seen a few episodes and relied on the games to fill in my knowledge of whats happened. Otherwise I prefer shorter animes because I'm not stuck with the same thing for too long so it's more refreshing.

Short every single time. I'd rather have something that's short and memorable then something long, plodding, and forgettable.
