If you want to watch "religious" people freak out invite them to the pagan festivals that happen often enough. Especially the "witnesses" group. They're a blast to see trying to flee.

Wonderful! Our first "Halloween is the devil's day" viewpoint.
I would first like to ask to keep calm, for the sake of pleasant discussion.

I would like to explore your views thoroughly.
Your primary reasons against celebrating Halloween can be summed up into two points.
1. Halloween is pagan
2. Paganism is evil

and there are several other things about what you wrote
You equate paganism and pagans with demons
You equate darkness with evil
You think that any holy thing mixed with evil becomes contaminated and evil
You think paganism "dishonors" god
You think death is a state of unconsciousness, and that there is no other realm in which people "live" after death
You think Halloween occurs on the anniversary of the deluge in the Noah's ark story

Okay, Pagans are people who aren't christian, and Paganism are things that aren't christian, so far as I know.

So, why are pagans evil?
Why is darkness evil?
Why does evil contaminate good?
How does paganism "dishonor" God, and what do you mean by dishonor
Do you believe in heaven or hell?
How do you reconcile these beliefs when watching anime or drama?

On the last one, Japan is Shintoist, which is animist, which is about as pagan as it gets. If you think association with paganism is evil, why are you here? The site is mostly dedicated to East asian dramas and anime. Association with pagans is bad, therefore this site is bad, therefore association with this site is bad, therefore you are bad. Come to think of it, this applies to everything, pagans sleep, therefore sleeping is evil, you sleep, therefore you are evil. Even then, what benefit comes from being christian, or punishment comes from not being christian? There's nothing after death, and I don't know about you, but I think all those people out on Halloween seem to be having quite a bit of fun.

You're not interested in having a pleasant discussion, and plenty of pagan religions include afterlife. You're both defending paganism and attacking it at the same time.

They freak out because beliefs have logical consequences.

Which is not to say that religious beliefs are logical, but that the consequences of holding them are highly predictable.

Not only will they reject other religions, many will even reject provable facts to maintain their delusions.

Human minds are programmable instruments of tremendous potential, though sadly, most minds on planet earth are bent toward supporting the utterly fictional and arguably worthless endeavor of rationalizing religious claims. Even a single wasted human imagination, is a tragedy of such magnitude that it is beyond our ability to quantify the extent of the loss it represents. We have no idea how many uniquely gifted geniuses have been swallowed whole by religious delusions and had their potential squandered. To me, I can only compare it to a crime equivalent of murder.

The reason christians don't like halloween is because its kind of a day celebrating all evil or at least thats what its turned in to. Even though i'm a christian i still dress up and we still trick or treat we just don't dress up as demons or anything. Sounds to me like your parents don't really explain things to you that well lol

Some mods will delete comments that take up alot of space, so "spoilering" actually does help.
It sounds more like you called him out, which doesn't lay out the groundwork for a pleasant discussion. People, including myself, won't (initially) see it the way you mean it. What will more likely result from your comment is alot of people attacking each other, and not an objective conversation at all. This forum itself is already a breeding ground for "anti-Christian-stereotypes" flaming, so it's not very good for productive topics.

Your confusion is derived from years of childhood indoctrination and reenforced by pious supernatural fundamentalist view points and is compulsory by those with said view points (albeit most likely your parents).
Why don't you analyze the situation for yourself, break away from your servile morality and others insuperable ideologies?
Certainly such dogmatic and imperishable nonsensical fear mongering are contemptible and can be absolved.

So, why are pagans evil?

After nearly two decades of being raised Catholic I can sum this up: Pagan is not Christian. If not Christian it is evil. Sad but true. If you're seen as not Christian you are seen as worshiping a false idol which, pending your brand of Christianity, can also be considered Satanism - even if it's not even close to being Satanism.

Why do Religious People Freakout on Halloween?

*facepalm* religious people came up with Halloween, why the hell would they freakout over something they made...

It's half pagan (half Celtic or Gaelic) and half christian

Halloween aka All saint's(hallows) eve

If a christian freaks-out about it, he/she is doesn't even know the roots, it a prelude to a Holy Day.

And for the Gaelic culture it was a harvest festival.

Despite that a lot of Christian sects do not believe Halloween is Christian and does not have Christian roots. They see it as Pagan and they see it as something to be destroyed. Not all sects but many.

I went to my cousin's Church once before Halloween (Baptists). Now, we were like, 9 at this time and we got sat in the kiddy bible study or whatever in which the teacher began to tell us of the horrendous pain and horror that will befall us if we partake in going door to door for candy.

He painted a terrifying picture of razor blades and poison in candy, being kidnapped by strangers and butchered, then burning eternally in hell for it. A lot of kids ended up crying. No parents complained about his method.

Dumb teacher, it's like saying be scared of Christmas eve because you'll get presents from Santa Claus (pagan/christian symbol).

I totally get it though, it's like comparing christian music today to a composer like Bach.
