I actually enjoy those shows, to some extent (if there are too many overt yuri overtones or it gets too fanservice-y however I tend to steer clear) - and I'm a female. owo;

This seems to be a situation where Is the Order a Rabbit? comes to save the day.

If the show is based around it, i rarely enjoy it. If it only has a couple of scenes of adorableness then i think it's a plus.

What exactly constitutes a cute thing? I enjoyed Girls und Panzer, but it wasn't really cute. It was shonen with girls. So was Stella C3, which was mediocre, but that's not relevant. If I made a Initial D clone where all the drivers were girls would that be cute?

Edit: I get the impression that this is one of those anime tags that gets thrown around willy nilly whenever someone wants to feel smug about why they hate something, like the way the term "generic harem" gets thrown around. I believe I've seen Arpeggio of Blue Steel called both Cute Boats Doing Cute Stuff and a generic harem (fleet?), which I found amusing in a sad kind of way, as it isn't really either.

Right here for you!

Hate might be a little strong for it, but while I love realistic/near-realistic slice-of-life shows, all the CGDCS shows I've seen have been not just boring but also annoying--that's due both to excessive cuteness and to the voices that generally go along with that. I keep trying, thinking maybe there's an exception out there, but I haven't found one to my taste yet.

(Also thought Free! was boring; but it wasn't annoying.)

I can't think of any that I've really enjoyed. Wait, does WakaMote count?

WaTamote is indeed a moeblob. anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

No. Because then I'd have to take back my answer.

Yuri annoys me in these shows, but otherwise they are nice fluff in between heavier or more serious watching.

Stuff like Kiniro Mosaic, Non Non Biyori and Gochiusa all fall into this category for me, although I wonder if they are sort of a subset of the CGDCS on their own.

I like watching them, but I don't know if I would re-watch them (and I definitely wouldn't buy them).

Then there is stuff like Love Lab, which I also consider to be kind of a subset because of how clever it is.

I don't know; maybe I'm just in denial, but the four shows I just listed don't seem to fall into my preconceived notions of what the CGDCS shows should be like. K-ON, at least in theory (as I've never watched it) seems to be the standard bearer for these kind of shows, and I can't really say why I feel like my three moeblobs and one excellent comedy don't naturally fall into the genre in my head.

I dipped a little toe into K-On and ended up marathoning both seasons. It was a weird experience. Mio is best girl.

I like CGDCT in general, but I don't seek them out. And they also risk getting boring after a few episodes.

That works. I have not seen BDs, cannot confirm if nipples exists.

Dat nipple-ectomy.

I don't mind a little moemoe here and there, but when its being obnoxiously obvious about it, then it will probably end up turning me away from finishing the series.
