What types of endings make you angry or unfulfilled?

Lol that did come across as confusing xD I prefer a perfect setup wherein if it seems appropriate that a character should die then it's alright with me. Just so long as the other characters have enough development to allow for a smooth flow storyline wise. The best way I can relate this is through George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones Novels.

Dat Oreimo ending. Also the sopranos style ending in Zetsuen no Tempest pissed me off.

Endings that show you material in the later chapters playing like there is going to be a second season but there is never one

I feel like I am the only one who likes Harems and their endings...

As for endings I hate:

1) Romance series with no relationships by the end. Ones more than that are the ones that let you assume that a relationship will or can start but it doesn't make it official. Harems being the only exception here because I prefer Harems that keep all the girls. =3

2) No matter the series but when they kill off a character that either has no reason to be killed off, or is just to add some final drama before the end.

3) The series that sets up for an obvious second season, but nothing has been stated, announced, or even hinted at for a second season. The Ambition of Oda Nobuna comes to mind since I recently watched that.

4) And as many have stated the: oh we're finished here, go buy our manga to figure out what else happens. ending.

I watch a lot of romantic anime, it is my favorite, and i get really upset when the protagonist ends up with nobody. Not because i think there can not be a fulfilling ending with that, but anime like la corda d'oro, la storia della arcana famiglia, and countless others end leaving you with the impression of "so.....this was the last episode... " I have seen all of the Romance anime on Crunchyroll currently and countless others. I am just saying, i did not like School Days because the feeling it left me with when i finished it, but it wrapped the story up perfectly for what it was going for. Any thoughts?

Aha, La Corda d'Oro's manga does end predictably (with whatsherface and youknowwho), but it just takes a while to get there. : ) I think La Corda might be getting a third season, but it might just be rumor. Still yeah, music is more of the focus, the romance comes later.

Status Quo endings.

I may not enjoy the Hamlet-style megadeath, but it doesn't annoy me.

On the other hand, 'everything is exactly the same, the unhealthy situation hasn't been resolved, maybe we'll get a sequel or we can't break with the next volume coming out' endings really drive me crazy. RomComs are the worst for this of course, but others do it. The 'Back in VR' ending for SAO totally ruined the whole show for me.

Besides the ones where there seems to be no ending or where it seems there will be a second season but there isn't.. the two that annoy me the most are..

a) Anime that seem to be building up to something amazing and the finale seems like it's going to have some spectacular battle or conclusion, but then next to nothing happens. Also with this are any series where they are building towards something in particular (like a romance) and then it doesn't happen!

b) Any anime that just throw some random twist in to make it end at the right amount of episodes, especially ones that completely deviate from their source material.. (Ao no Exorcist, I'm looking at you..)
