This is mainly for people who ACTUALLY own cars, and have plans for them.

Let me start things off by asking you guys about ebay parts, how do you feel about them and have you ever had experiences with them?

I only trust one eBay store for JDM parts. All other parts (hub-centric rings, HID bulbs, LED bulb replacements, etc.), I can settle with a 98% feedback.

Anything above $100.00, I don't bother with eBay... unless it's offered by this particular store I go to.

lol, enough about ebay products, seems like there's a lot of people here already have modded there cars, anybody recommend certain products other than the popular ones such as AEM, Injen, Greddy etc...
Posted 1/28/08
I thought HKS was the most popular in North America. I'm not actually a fan of HKS its popular so people jump on the bandwagon and I haven't really met anymore who prefers it. I'd prefer GReddy.

The ones I can think of are.. XS Engingeering, Tomei, A'pexi, Megan, DC Sport, Tein, Bilstein, Cusco, HKS, Turbonetics, Blitz, Koyo, Sard, Toyo, and Vibrant.

I prefer A'pexi and GReddy but It would be easier if you specify a part or what it pertains to (drivetrain, suspension, engine, cooling, exhaust, gauges, ignition, Intake, etc.)

Also, the best motor oil is Ethos and second best is Royal Purple.

lol yah what greekcotan said is right...hks IS the most popular among the states, but bandwagon? lol just cause everyone likes it you must like it too? honestly i like it cause they have very good parts, love most of their parts...just a bit expensive...i would have to say tein is pretty bad....

lol wow you use expensive oil... i use mobil 1 100% synthetic for my ka and i use ethos for my sr

i actually use hks, greddy, tomei, blitz, cusco, sard, koyo, jic lol i have a lot more i use...but you get the idea

I'm not a fan of HKS and its not the quality for what your paying for.. I'd rather go with GReddy, A'pexi, Injen,

I don't suggest using cusco, DC Sport, Cusco or Tein. Its not that tein is bad.. its just cost/quality. They don't cost much and and they don't last long.

Hell i'd take ohlins adjustable coilovers if I could afford to pay $3,000 lol.

negative on that

waaa cusco you dont like??? how do you not like cusco?? its soo baller quality is bomb lol
and i think greddy is along the same lines with cusco, hks, apex

tein just completely fails....it cost too much for crap
when i had my 2000civic si i ran tein flex, dc sports header and cams...not bad..but yah there are better companies

have you heard of zeals? kei office? dg5's?

honestly sometimes its not worth paying 3000 for coilovers when you can get the same quality ones for 1500-2g's

lol doood what kind of skyline you looking to get???? im thinking about moving out of cali just so i can pick up a r32 gt-s...

There are certain HKS products that are well made, not all of them are shitty. For example, their intake has the worst filtering system compared to others.

Are you kidding? Cusco makes amazing products. They do a TON of R&D into their items, and what they sell they put to use.

Before you bash other companies as well, it's best to research the products and ask people that have/had experience with them. DC Sports as a domestic company makes excellent products for imports.

Of course how could you expect cheap products to last long? You get what you pay for, so essentially cost/quality of the lower Tein products are good enough. And yes, they do last long as long enough as long you maintain it properly. Any type of coilover, shock product will eventually expend their life due to wear and tear.

Ohlins? Sure, if you're a real baller. But KW Variants have proven themselves time and time when it comes to a good steet/track coilover system which is significantly less than an Ohlins setup.

I've ran Tein's in my Box for years with no problem. Before that I always used them in my other cars. They are good if you know where to buy them

wow couldnt have put it any better and there are other coilover setups that are cheaper, have good valving etc etc like stance, kts, kbees

ehhh i honestly dislike tein a lot, wayy overpriced on some of there parts...like tein basics...crap coilovers..its got springrates of like 5/5 (depending on car) no camber plates ...with that id rather get megans than teins imo (although megans pretty much suck too)

what kind of teins did you have? just springs? or did you actually have coilovers? (im guessing when you said box your referring to the xb)

Umm this is out of the ebay scammer discussion... I just want to make fun of what mitsubishi has planed for next year....LOL

As for buying autoparts off of ebay.... I have only bought from people near me, so that I can actually go and pick them up....I bought a CRX (non-leather) seat for a electric go-kart i was building for a university project.

imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...dont you think

Ebay part are exactly how much you buy them for. Cheap. Ebay coilovers and springs are bouncy, coilover adjuster sleeves can crack. Lips? Oh let's not get started on lips.

Ebay specials *thumbs down*

You guys are ridiculous. Ebay parts are decent. You just have to know how to sort the good ones from the bad ones. A few things that are good on ebay: Intake, Exhaust, Intercoolers, Short shifters, Steering wheels, Strut bars, and Turbos(to an extent). Things you really don't want to buy from ebay is anything to do with fuel. EX: Lines, Injectors, FPR or anything with suspension( Springs, Struts/shocks, and Coilovers.)

Actually the ebay Intercoolers is one of the best "bang for the buck" deals on there.
