They love the idea of same-sex relationships if it's girl x girl, aka YURI,
but lose their shit when they see an anime with 5 guys (not even romantically involved w/ each other)
as the main characters, and females just there on the background.
Free!, Kimi to Boku, Meganebu!

You don't see as many female fans going against Yuri as
male otakus against Yaoi.

Why is there so much hate?
Why the double standards?

But of course, I'm not directing this question to CR peepz alone,
but to all the male otakus out there. Share your thoughts, male otakus.
If this doesn't concern you, you may leave.

Let us discuss.

Also, lol he's so ugly. ^

Because it is fun to troll people?

I thought this was pretty obvious when the trolls said, they were trolling?

Who knows really? I could give you any one of the semi-long winded potential reasons but we've heard them all before. I personally don't care if a show has yaoi elements or not if I like the story I follow it otherwise I pick a different show. I think too much is being made of male otaku x yuri, but hey sex sells and while that continues to be the case the shoujo-ai undertones will continue. As long as it's appropriate for the story being told and not shoehorned in I'm fine with almost everything tbh

The only one I've seen who claimed he was trolling, was you.
So your "trolling", I don't think is really one of the reasons.

Umm... I dunno who you are directing this at in particular... but someones comment sparked your... interest.

I for one as a (reluctant) male like both versions... I'll watch yaoi as long as the story is good (Loveless is one of my favourites). And while I get the "suuuure" response when I say this, I like yuri, because two girls in love with each other is really cute and sweet.

Also I liked Free and Kimi to Boku... havent tried out Meganebu yet, didnt really sound that interesting (at the time I tried to watch it).

As for the yaoi-hate, I think it boils down to ingrained sexual insecurity, which a lot of western males seem to have. I don't have it because I dislike being male... so I guess I'm... pan-sexual (or so I have been called).

Anyway... does that invalidate my opinion? lol

I don't have problem with both yaoi nor yuri because I enjoy both equally along with hetero.

Society hasn't really change much in some ways.

Its a random art piece that the creator of Yuru Yuri drew.

Perhaps it is because a lot more males are more "offended" by homosexuality due to their complex and ego than females?

I have no clue. Let the ladies have their fanservice. They have to put up with the mountain of stuff aimed at the guys, so let them enjoy what they get.

Personally I would prefer a harem situation. Yuri isn't bad and I don't hate stuff with more than one male

I can't tell if the OP is actually surprised at this, or is just rabble-rousing.

That being said, there are 2 things going on here.

First, people like seeing people they find attractive go at it. The more attractive people, the better the whole scene.

Second, seriously, in just about every world culture, you can't be shocked that men are made uncomfortable by even remotely gay stuff. We're pretty hardcore trained that way.
