I prefer self-shots(thank god for mirrors and personal cameras) where I can insert myself into the fantasy. I honestly don't care for girl on girl, and I definitely don't want to see boy on boy. even watching a heterosexual couple doesn't interest me. I don't watch any Yuri or Yaoi Anime. I'm an "Otaku" for Mechas.

Get somebody to do a post on that, I always find it nuts when westerners call themselves 'otaku'.

I don't mind yaoi, as long as the relationships are not abusive. Unfortunately, that seems to be a common theme in yaoi manga and anime. I don't know that I have ever seen a yuri story where the "relationship" involved rape.

The best Yuri I have ever read/seen is the manga version of Sasameki Koto. While the anime was fun and touching and came oh-so-close to being really good, it just doesn't have enough episodes. The manga not only takes the main couple's relationship all the way to its proper conclusion, it also features some of the best story-lines advocating tolerance, opposing discrimination, and promoting equality for same sex couples that I have ever read. The ending of Chapter 54 is one of the absolute finest, most touching conclusions to a love story ever written/drawn, regardless of the sexual preference of the protagonists. .

I only wish that the entire manga could have been done as anme!

You sir, are perfect. Lemme hug you.

There was quite the outrage from male otaku over Free! upon it's announcement, and continued to pour forth after it's debut. Many were saying "it was the end of anime", and "KyoAni is going downhill", simply because they decided to cater to us females for once. I see nothing wrong with either kind, yaoi or yuri. If I don't like it, I don't watch it. Simple as that. I'd posted this awhile back in my Free! anime group:

Forgive the side note, but there is a shade of difference here. Using the term as either 'otaku' or otaku denotes the original Japanese usage (i.e. the negative meaning). Using it as Otaku (capitalized) denotes it in its adopted Western usage, which is as a badge of pride for many of us. (I've seen this version of the term as far back as mid-'90s anime / manga fandom, so it's not exactly a new thing, really.)

I personally have no problem with yaoi
It's just...being a straight male, I'm just not, you know, not into it

Women can watch whatever stuff they want
Go with the flow man

On another note, I think males have a problem with it because men are kinda dicks

...Oh you know it's true

I don't hate them so, +1 for less hate

but I do find them boring so I don't watch Yaoi or reverse-harems

I do get bored of harems in general also, it's always the same thing over and over and over...
