Victims of this are:
Sword Art Online, Shingeki no Kyojin, Guilty Crown, Mirai Nikki

At first everyone loved them but as soon as they are over, or even when not,
you will see awful remarks such as calling them "overrated", "overhyped for no reason",
"trash", "why is this shit so popular", "It's as bad as Bleach".

I mean, they are not even that bad.
(maybe one of the animes i listed is, IDK)

Are people doing this to look cool?
Are people doing this to deviate from the norm? If so, why?
Are people doing this just to make the fans mad and they don't really hate them?

We continue to wonder.

My problem with SAO is they expected me to believe that a human being could survive for over a month with no food or water. Kind of takes the wind out of a show when even the common knowledge is crap.

I don't know, but I like all 4 of the ones that u mentioned, lol.

If anything though, I think most people expect to be blown away when they hear avid fans hyping up an anime, and when it doesn't happen, they feel the need to say something about that. xD Plus, a lot of people just like to argue, lol, and prove their point.

I've said this before, but when a shitty anime is being fanboyed all over and haters are in the minority, the haters have to hate 10 times as much to compensate for all the hype by over hating.

Hating on anime is very justifiable or the latter, but it doesn't the anime being hated on is bad.

The word hate is so often used, it presents no merits anymore. Using dislike has so much more implication of a well written, well thought out post on a genuine reason why an anime is not liked.

This makes sense.
But not for SAO, since everyone seems to hate it. Poor Kiritoe.

Well, I view it as the haters being the type of people who can't stand anyone having a different opinion and liking things they don't like. I've seen similar from fanboys.

As I've gotten older, I've grown to be much more tolerant of what people like and don't like. If I don't like a show and others do, I ignore them. If I like a show and others don't, I ignore them. Everybody is is different.

Technically they were in the hospital on an I.V drip. You can survive as long as it takes XD.

On hating popular things well it's just the in general trendy thing to do and always has been. People like to feel special and will often try to like undiscovered things to feel more clever than others then put down anything that a lot of people like. It happens in everything. But there is also a difference between being critical of something and just not liking something because it's popular. Most of the Hipsters can't put forward a decent argument why they didn't like something.

No anime is perfect however and there is not point in jumping down peoples throats if they say something bad about something you enjoy.

It's true that some just troll for the fun of trolling.

Yet to be fair, no series is completely flawless, and different people will always have different tastes. The shows you listed certainly have their share of flaws though I still ended up enjoying them... mostly. I've recommended to friends to not to bother watching past episode 14 of SAO unless they really want to.

And with a wildly popular show, it can be easy for someone to go in with heightened expectations and wind up disappointed. I suppose it's also possible that some go in thinking that it can't possibly be as good as everybody claims, and then focus on the flaws that validate that preconceived opinion.

It can be kinda confounding at times when a large number of people seem to be in love with something that seems like trash to you, or vice versa, leading to some of the more heated comments about something being overrated/underrated. However, that doesn't justify hating on other people over differing opinions.

This doesn't surprise me. People are like cows. One cow changes directions; they all will change direction eventually. There will always be a bull for every 10 cows, though. That's why the shows still hold a valuable, successful name.

How do you think people in comas survive?

FYI, per some quick research, the longest recorded coma someone successfully awoke from was 29 years, so "over a month" would be no problem at all. (The record for someone living, but never awaking is far longer).

I don't hate SAO because it's popular. I don't hate it at all, it was just disappointing. I was devouring the series until the end of the Aincrad arc killed the mood, then I began to notice flaws that I had glossed over before. (I still maintain that SAO jumped the shark as hard as any show I've ever seen) I can understand someone being disappointed in a hyped series that they feel failed to deliver, but that person should still be able to acknowledge the show's quality. For all it's considerable flaws, SAO doesn't suck. I just didn't feel it was deserving of all the praise it got. I find it frustrating that some people assume I hate it because it's popular before listening to my reasoning. I thought SnK was brilliant, and very much lived up to the hype.

There are people that feel the need to pick everything apart. See "2/10 would not bang" meme, for example. It makes them feel intelligent to find the flaws that lesser minds (in their opinion) miss. The same kind of thing happens with conspiracy theorists. They like to think that every one else is duped, but they were clever and figured it out. It's a form of egomania.

Who cares what others think? Do you let other people tell you what to wear/eat/drink? Hopefully not. There are always people who want to hate it for the hell of it. However, some people genuinely don't like SAO, or AoT which is fine because we are all different. It's hating it for your OWN reasons and hating it for the reason everyone else is, that is the difference. There was also not be as much "fun" in hating on an unpopular and unkown series...

Make up your own minds, I know I do.
