My problem with SAO is they expected me to believe that a human being could survive for over a month with no food or water. Kind of takes the wind out of a show when even the common knowledge is crap.

The thing I'm confused about is the removing the helmet is supposed to cause microwave to fry brain, correct?

What would happen if you were to remove the helmet quickly before it could trigger the event?

Even though it had a couple problems, I still enjoyed it.

Its a simple fact that most of the time, when a popular anime is hated on, there is something extremely wrong with it.
I don't think i can go a day without hearing something negative about SAO. I go on the forums, SAO is bashed. I talk to people about anime, SAO is bashed. I think about SAO, SAO is bashed. Do you guys realize that an anime like Naruto or Bleach that used to be hated immensely barely generates discussion on that topic? Its just SAO. I honestly think its a record for most hated anime, because its so popular and that bad. If it was swept under the rug like say...BTOOOM! people wouldn't need to talk about because it would be established that it wasn't anything special. Same thing with a bunch of other popular anime. Just imagine if Mushibugyo was as popular as SAO how much hate would come about.

This makes sense.
But not for SAO, since everyone seems to hate it. Poor Kiritoe.

Also I don't like to think of Anime of being about realism. I always feel its good to get away from reality and just immerse myself in a world where sometimes things don't make sense. Its half the fun

I've seen people go off about Snk/AoT as well. My favorite was someone saying that the characters were cardboard cutouts. Some people automatically dislike anything popular.

I don't see the problem. Popularity should have higher standards than those that exist.

If something is talked about too much, everyone has a right to question why. If the show isn't worthy of "god tier", there's really no reason to jump on the bandwagon of bias. We should always question "Do I like this?", "Should I like this?", and "Is this worthy?" Low standards result in being spoon-fed slop

Don't misunderstand I 100% agree that there are ways for people to survive in a coma like state for years with proper artificial hydration and sustainment, but if the writers had either given it that much thought they would have stated or implied that fact. There is also the other matter of the bad MMORPG writing where player resurrection and the logout option could be patched out without forcing a player to relog. I know that SAO had some innovative elements but the writers treat the viewer too immaturely for it to garner the devotion it has.

Well, I view it as the haters being the type of people who can't stand anyone having a different opinion and liking things they don't like. I've seen similar from fanboys.

As I've gotten older, I've grown to be much more tolerant of what people like and don't like. If I don't like a show and others do, I ignore them. If I like a show and others don't, I ignore them. Everybody is is different.

I dont know, but I personally think that if someone has a negative opinion about something others don't really care about they should keep if for themselves.

It must be nice to be BFF's with half the mod staff. Making constant troll threads with no repercussions must be great fun.

It understandable to wanna know why a show is so popular...........................without saying hurtful comments like "people who enjoy this crap are retarded." towards the fans. Yet the fans shouldn't say things like "anyone that doesn't like this is a fag." to anyone that kindly disagrees. Nobody wins in both cases.

"Nothing should be popular" and "nothing should be hated." Problem solved?

There probably is never going to be an anime with universal appeal, and there are going to be people who do not like a given series. As for it happening after the series is done, a lot people only see a series once it's complete, either by choice or cause restriction on release. Why get mad cause someone does not like a series? It's not like a preferences in anime etc needs validation from others, you like it and that's all that's required. Of course there will always be trolls who just want make people mad.

Also popular does not mean it's good.
