The other two being: Naruto and Bleach.

Since all CR has been talking a lot lately are the new popular shows,
why not revive the REAL fan wars (though not that fan war) and talk about the original BIG THREE.

Out of the three, One Piece seems to have the most satisfied fans.
Out of the three, One Piece seems to have the least haters.
Out of the three, One Piece is in fact, the most successful.

All three of them are shounen.
All three of them introduced the 3 most popular group of people in anime,
ninjas, shinigamis and pirates.
All three of them have been running for 10 years now.

So, why is One Piece so special?

For the record, I loved all three of them at some point,
but now it's just One Piece and Naruto.

Naruto & Bleach are done by studio Pierrot and One Piece is done by Toei Animation.

The difference is night and day if you honestly wish to analyze them from a neutral perspective.

So Toei Animation can produce long-running hits but Pierrot can't?
Interesting!

Toei has Pretty Cure (if you wish to count it) and One Piece and HAD Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Digimon.
Pierrot has Naruto (which is certainly a hit) and HAD Bleach.

There's a lot of undercutting and shortcutting that's blatant in shows done within Studio Pierrot, but I'd rather just say, "Toei historically does better with its intellectual properties."

Toei is a huge company with a massive advertising machine. Overall i think it's probably just the characters and the storyline following a simple formula as Dragonball did earlier. Also by Toei btw. I think the main issue with Naruto and Bleach is that they try and make the shows something they are not and overcomplicate things with these long waffling storylines. One Piece doesn't really deviate from what's it's been doing from day one and that's fine. People enjoy that so Oda just stuck with that.

And did i mention that huge advertising machine and merch pushing?

Because One Piece has pirates. The other two is something that doesn't exist that Japan has overused and something that did exist that Japan overuses and something the world overuses, but Japan doesn't, yet it's in a Japanese way.

If I were to guess (since I never watched One Piece past episode 3) I would say the reason is because One Piece is meant to be a comedy with a goal in mind that the series is going toward. Naruto and Bleach are more serious with minor comedy elements. Perhaps people don't like the serious atmosphere of the other two shows. I myself find One Piece not to my liking since I prefer the more serious type of series. I don't mind comedy, but the stretching arm and all that were just a negative to me, not much of a pirate person either.

What happened to Portgas D. Ace, it's comedy?
I agree that One Piece is funny compared to the other two,
but it's serious when it needs to, which is not bad at all.

Because it is better written, has better characters, has better plot twists, has better humor, and is an all around better series than Naruto and Bleach. It is all about consistency, and One Piece has MUCH better a track record than both Bleach and Naruto, which fell apart at the half way point and continued to degrade in quality and logic. :/

There is barely any filler in One Piece and that makes it the best since you do not have to skip half the series.

For me, One Piece is more enjoyable of a greater sense of fun. The series does not take itself seriously to the extent that Naruto and Bleach does, and is jut one big adventure.

Naruto and Bleach, on the other hand, kind of a stumbles around on trying to have a message as well as taking itself seriously, but overall I feel like it wasn't really executed all that well. Like, at all.

Plus, doesn't exactly help with the story arc that the Naruto manga is in right now, where everything is kind of falling apart at the ears, stuff is being thrown in out of nowhere, and that established conventions and rules on how the setting works are getting thrown out for "rule of Cool".
