More improvement last night, although I did experience some buffering in the latter part of the evening on Chunibyo's second season. For the record, I am posting here mainly to keep a current, running log for awareness of the issues and constructive feedback. I’m hoping that others also post about their issues, as well.

SSDX - I have also experienced your pain and frustration with service and customer support over the months that this has continued. It drove me to write on the forum and to their customer service. As a member of Premium CR for five years, I have had good service from the site across most platforms over the majority of that time. I only desire good communication on the issues and fixes from Crunchyroll as an end result of this thread but am trying to go about it in a respectful and supportive manner. I'm certain that this is a more productive path to getting improvements from Crunchyroll than venting frustration here on the board about the issues. I strongly suspect at USD $6.99 a month, or even the higher $11.99, none of us will move the needle to get a fix if individually if we cancel, especially given the influx of new members on new platforms such as PS VITA. Don't take this personally, but I hope you'll consider focusing on the issues impartially in this thread rather than venting your frustration in a belligerent manner… mainly, to keep this thread from getting locked and not to handicap other members who are trying to be more constructive. The more exposure and lengthier it gets, the more likely attention will be given to these issues as they pop up in search engines, first in the help forum updates, etc..

Crunchyroll has been like this for a while(a year or more perhaps) already and they havent fix it at all. Been giving me the run around for a while and no fix in sight.Same as you im using a 100/100 connection (crunchyroll know this it already asked me this info)and all they said, after back and forward between me and their "tech" support , it was basically not their fault.Take that answer as you will. They know i already gave up,only waiting for sub to run out .

So I'd been having this problem for the last couple of weeks. CR support basically told me to check my flash (which I'd already done...) and gave me instructions for Windows (when I said I'm on Linux...), but I finally found a solution on my own.

Go to https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/cp150757.edgefcs.net and it should give you a list of IP addresses for crunchyroll content servers.

Then pick one from the list. (Generally ones from DNS servers near you are going to be better, but do some ping tests to work out which one is best for you).

Set that address as cp150757.edgefcs.net in your hosts file.

Using this technique I cut my ping from 150ms+ to 25ms, and now my video is super smooth.

Edit: Note that if the CR content servers change, your videos might stop working... in that case you'll need to repeat the process with a new server

Honestly, i have given Crunchyroll enough of a chance to even address the issue, but they have refused to do so. It is rather sad to finally cancel my subscription after nearly five years, but i find the lack of support and honesty just not worth my money. What bothers me is not the fact that there is a problem but the fact that they do nothing but pretend there isnt a problem.

It's normal for Crunchyroll, I occasionally have nights where I get constant buffering like tonight.

But other nights it's quite reliable, anyone who has been here a while has already gone through the usual troubleshooting with staff and know it's a complete waste of time.

It's been over a year since I joined and it's always been this way, I've had three ISP's since joining at different addresses and Crunchyroll still stutters. Either end your subscription or put up with it, because it's unlikely to get fixed anytime soon.

Thought it was supposed to be better now? Shame I am still having some lagging. Admittly not as much but still having to pause it. For the minutes it doesn't though, it is great.

Seems people are still having issues. I'll still be here lurking through the forums and hopefully one day this $hit gets fixed. Right now Netflix &Funimation are my alternatives.

So, I was using this method when BAAAM! I realized that CR has only ONE CDN for the entire Latin-American region. I mean, Brazil has like 30 (if not more) million people. Its just isn't enough. And what about USA, they have like 5 CDN for a huge-ass population. Thats small, low, or whatever you want to put it.

I wan't to know how I can do that same process of chosing my closest CDN but on windows. Can you tell me more?? I'm using OpenDNS and its been helping a little.

Just thought I'd report in... While the streaming issues have improved slightly during prime time it's still the same issues for just about any show in the new season. Older shows do seem to work just fine like little busters.

As a pretty new member this thread has been quite disheartening to read through. I've had barely any problems when I was using my free trial but since I've become a paid member the problems have been piling on. (I can't even watch old Gintama episodes, even though they're only in 480p)
I've just read through 25 pages of complaints in a thread that started over 8 months ago with 1654788 views and only two or three posts on behalf of CrunchyRoll. This is NOT acceptable.
I am willing to accept the sleazy subscription cancellation, I am willing to pay more for less shows (I'm from the Netherlands, the amount and quality of shows licensed here is significantly less than over in the US) and I am willing to tolerate stuttering on 1080p from time to time despite having a solid connection and a decent pc, but seeing CR showing such blatant disregard for paying customers is truly shocking. If there are DRM issues, DNS issues, CDN issues, other issues or even unknown issues then CR should be able to communicate this in a clear fashion with their customer base. If there are fixes under way there should be regular and clear updates on when and how these are going to be implemented, if they are going to be implemented at all.
The few posts from Bjaker on these issues (and with 25 pages of complaints there should have been a lot more) have had promises about fixes coming our way in Q1. Not seeing an official response or follow-up on these deadlines is troubling. When you're not able to keep your word you should at the very least address it, keeping silent as you're doing right now is, again, NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! (Sorry Bjaker, as community manager it's your job to take the heat).

If I had known about the piss poor customer service in advance I wouldn't have subscribed and I will certainly not extend my subscription until these issues are addressed. If I receive a proper response in a timely fashion I will at least consider extending, but the underlying issues and the abysmal communication should have been dealt with a long time ago.

This isn't an issue you can sweep under the rug forever, so please start doing what we are paying you to do.

Boy, I sure am glad that the acquisition by The Chernin Group has brought about solid improvements, and that as Shinji repeatedly promised, the traditional base of Crunchyroll wouldn't suffer for it. It's not like they've been focusing their efforts on expanding into other venues instead of fixing the serious problems they have with serving anime, right? I'm sure that that as Shinji patronizingly inferred, we were idiots for questioning the motives behind being bought out by someone who originally wanted Hulu and immediately started talking about their grand plans for expanding into other venues.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-830511/a-big-day-for-crunchyroll-and-the-future-of-anime#45095715 (12/5/13):

Crunchyroll has been, and always will be the home for anime and everything Japan, and nothing will change that. Our new investors, TCG, share our passion and mission, and will provide us even more resources and support to achieving our goals. Together, we want to bring even more of anime and Japan to Crunchyroll.
...
5. shinji, im scared of change and im going to wildly speculate that this is really bad for no reason and vent on this thread
-_-, take a deep breath and go back to watching more anime, trust that we have cr's best interest in mind and that we have been around the block so we know what we are doing =)

6. shinji, i trust in you and if you think this will make cr better, then i'm all for it
thx, i won't let you down

After getting back from AX earlier today, i decided i would give Crunchyroll a second chance on the streaming video and see how it goes. Hopefully, i will make it past the 14 day free trial. I want to support the industry, but i am not going to support a poor quality service. I do not believe in the idea that a bad service is better than no service at all. Specially when one can find other alternatives to get the shows you want to see.
I will let people know how it ends up.

For Pete's sake, tonight (~7pm Pacific) the server is so screwed that I can't even read manga. I'm sure that it's my computer's fault somehow, though, even though I'm registering a speed test of over 2Mbps download, and even though http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/crunchyroll.com.html shows that it's down for everyone.
