For those of you that are having this problem i to was having this issue.
first go into your router and change the primary dns to 8.8.8.8 and the secondary to your isp primary
Second read the following thread
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-824837/jumping-stopping-play-due-to-cache

there is a driver update for most network cards that was just released not long ago that if you have this built in card then installing the driver may help.

I am one of a certain percentage of users who managed to improve my streaming experience by changing my DNS. However during prime time there is still too much lag. The site isn't very usable during weekends and during the day of a weekday. Yet when I try to watch something in the middle of the night on a weekday I can stream 1080 flawlessly without any issue.

I'm thinking CR might need to just bite the bullet and buy some more server upgrades to handle the extra load.

Looks like lag came back for me today again..

All day throughout on various videos. I hope the new investor will invest some money onto new servers to fix this issue...
Edit: for some odd reason, the video keeps going towards the end during random times. Seriously, what is the wrong with CR's servers lately?

This is the only site that I have playing videos.

Any official response on this? Just started happening to me about 2 weeks ago and it's insufferable. I might have to cancel my sub because there's not point in paying all this money to not be able to watch a damn thing.

It's been pretty bad tonight. No official response to this thread that I've seen but a couple other posts about CR working on the problem. Seems these companies are getting as bad as our politicians.... "There's no problem here folks, it's all on your end, and even if there is we can just kick the can down the road and hope you keep electing us." Politics aside, as further proof look at Funimation, they are better than their old site but still have problems and even now they are trying to block any complaints on their forums.

Funimation's official explanation was that problems are more efficiently handled by contacting customer support, but I don't buy that for all situations.

I've seen many cases where posting an issue brought a quick "Oh, I had that problem, here's how you fix it" response from another user.

While I wouldn't bet my life on it, I have a sneaking suspicion it is more wrong-headed policy (IMHO) than an attempt to hide issues.

On a different note, Funimation should more often be held up as a comparison to CR, as the two are far closer in size and resources than services CR is usually compared to (i.e., Netflix, Hulu, YouTube). At least if people compared CR to Crackle (which I've also had issues with), they would be closer to the mark.

problems are not always efficiently handled by contacting customer support. if they were then there would have been no need to resort to posting on the forum to begin with. the reason why they want you to use customer support is because they can keep things quiet.

i agree that you tend to get better answers out of forum junkies than support most of the time.

if there was no need to hide the issue then why would they bother to try? all it takes is a simple response listing steps they are doing to solve the issue and it would appease the masses temporarily while they fix the problem.

i agree... funimation is a better comparison. funimation however doesnt seem to have as many issues for us though. crackle has also worked rather well. however do realize that both are free services while i pay for cr. yes i realize cr has a free option but it is limited to low def which typically doesnt lag or stutter frequently.

It isn't as easy as diagnosing problems with a device like the 360 or Roku since they have control over those apps and there are no surprises with the hardware. PC streaming is a bit of a different beast.

These issues aren't being swept away either, as is evidenced by the existence of this several month old thread.

I don't think that they are maliciously trying to give people bad service, I think they just aren't equipped to fix the issue at the moment and that it isn't high enough on their priority list. It's extremely hard to diagnose and fix these types of problems when you're a worldwide streaming service dealing with so many different ISP's, so I'm pretty apt to give them the benefit of the doubt before calling them out as being akin to lying politicians or, (much more offensively) Funimation. Those are fighting words!

imho funimation does a pretty standup job. i certainly like the choices of voice actors they use over some other companies.

as for streaming issues (on cr) its existed for over a year which gives ample time to get a fix up and going. its also ample time to come up with a better player or working with clients to allow us to buffer for 30-60 seconds so that we wouldnt have cutouts.

in any case.. equipped or not equipped to handle the situation the priority for any business is to make money. if paying customers are unhappy and want to quit i think that makes it a really big issue and hence the priority.

i think the major issue is an almost complete lack of response on their side to keep us up to date with fixes. this is clearly evident in this thread. i think quite a few of us want to be reassured that they are actually working on a fix and want to know when to expect it. if not we will have to look elsewhere.

fighting words or not... i'm stuck reloading/pausing 720p to fix stuttering just about forced to go down to 480p yet again today. its frustrating when all i want to do is relax and watch a show. i think most of us feel better by coming here and venting our frustration.

I've been having this problem for the past month,

Week 1 few stops.

Week 2 Lil more than a few

Week 3. Decide to knock out the trial then start my sub (Intense freezing every 30s-2mins)

Current week, Constant refreshing every 30s-2mins just to watch 1 show..... Positive I won't start my Sub until this issue is fixed.

Haha, that was the point... Trying to stir up a response from CR at the least! Guess they're not taking the bait, which is a little worrisome.

i agree trelac... considering the amount of tension in this thread i'm suprised (and a bit put off) that we havent had an official response from CR on the matter.

back on 720p today since 1080p lags. hopefully i dont have to resort to 480 again.

edit: ......seems like i'm back to 480 again.... rediculous.

I started my subscription with the Black Friday deal. I was able to watch some show at 1080p without any issue, but 5 days ago, I started being unable to watch video even in 720p.

So yea, I guess now I know why the subscription was so cheap. It makes me mad to think I've paid for one year of 480p video service, but I'm even more mad to see no official statement by CR on this issue.

It seems like most people get the same utter to suck from contacting the "Contact Us"

Check their internet

What computer specs they are running.

When every user has a top notch computer. It is something wrong with CR its self.

The trafficking got worse bandwidth needs to be upgraded so on and so forth., Hopefully this new investor provides money to help with these issues, before CR starts losing sub's
