I also am having these issues. I'm having them in Windows, LInux and via the Samsung Smart TV app, in Chrome and Firefox.

I'm NOT Having those issues on Amazon or Hulu.

I also happen to know that I live a few blocks from the CR offices, so I really doubt they can't see the problem themselves.

I use Open DNS with a local DNS cache server.

As of 3 days ago I can no longer access the Crunchyroll app on my PS3, Ps4 or Roku, hell the Manga app wont even work on my phone now. Ive tried resetting the router, updating it and switching to an open DNS and nothing has worked, I even tried running a direct cable line to my PS4 and that didnt even work. Ive never had any trouble with Crunchyroll up to now and I dont know what else to do. All support did was tell me to change my router to an open DNS. Hulu and Netflix still work fine.

Yeah i just signed up not long ago, keep getting random freezes, it'll just randomly stop playing more video, so I have to waste my time reloading the page mid-watching, its most annoying when it freezes during the ending credits as theres usually a section about the next show to watch in many shows and if your near the end and you refresh it doesnt remember your place.

I have a 80 mb connection, Intel Core i7 920 D0 (quad-core)@ 3.4Ghz per core, 24GB DDR3 ram, 480 GTX gfx card, SSD, Windows 8.1 Pro latest chrome/firefox, latest flash, fully patched - doesnt occur on other sites with flash player's, wiping cache doesnt help.

Furthermore during some videos it seems to well freeze in place, the video will start stuttering in audio then video then stop playing, which is odd as im starting at the PC monitor section of my keyboard's SmartLCD, and the cpu usage is never particularly high, I also checked it under task manager and no core is maxed nor is any process using all to much inc browsers, sure 480 is a little old now(only using it as my 7970 now overheats constantly causing spotty performance), but I can still play most games, and more than enough for video, played some 4k videos without issue, and yeah no stuttering elsewhere so well its def not on my side, being an IT professional and a programmer I can say that with good degree of confidence, specially given everyone elses issues.

clearly the problem is inherent with the flawed design of their latest player, they seriously need to address this before they start bleeding memberships at an increased rate, even if the majority of their users are freemium that's no excuse to provide them a lousy service as they still make good cash of advertising from them.

I can play netflix, amazon prime on demand, skyplayer, bbc iplayer, funimation (even via dns) youtube up to 4k(yes in 4k i have a 4k monitor)!!! all without these kinds of issues, clearly they need to go back to the drawing board, I just came from a thread with the same issue, which was closed and routed to anothet thread, which then filled up to 100 pages and then also closed (likely as limit of msgboard or something) and this is only one of the several threads open citing said issues in the top page atm, at the very least premium members should be able to buffer fully, but frankly i think a fix requires a complete re-design.

After 4 years of being a member I just cancelled my recurring membership due to these issues.

I should get a refund for this month already, the service is getting so bad.

This problem is pretty bad. The fact that it the lag/skipping does not change when I drop the quality clearly tells me that it is not my computer. Even when I switch to my surface pro 3 I still have issues. It's also clearly not my internet with a ping of 1 ms, a download speed of 128 Mbps and an upload speed of 118 Mbps. I have tried all the options on CR and it may help for the next video I watch, but 1-2 videos later it becomes choppy again. And I do agree that this issue tends to become prevalent during high traffic hours. I can go over to the funimation site and run videos at 1080p just fine, but then I come over here and there are issues galore. I really like the services provided here, and the community is way better, but the video player is a definite problem that needs to be fixed.

I'm currently in my trial, but the sudden stops mid episode are frustrating. The stream us going through my chrome cast and my computer, and I'll get sudden freezes that last a few seconds or even up to 30 seconds.

I'd swear the service was smoother when the commercials played... But maybe it just had more time to buffer?

I notice hulu and Netflix don't have the same problem.

An update... Once "prime time" ended ~10pm MST the streaming got better. No pauses our hiccups for two episodes.

Suspect issue might be overloaded hardware/switches along the way? Dropped packets?

Yeah, I also have noticed the issue is worse when prime time hits.

It's not as bad as Funimation though. I'm not sure if they ever fixed it, but they kept selling subscriptions for at least six months when they knew they didn't have the hardware to support their prime time viewers.

I don't know how CR will go, but until it's actually fixed I think keeping my subscription active will only encourage delays.

I'm using firefox, is there a better browser for CR that I should be using? Just joined up as a premium member a couple days ago so hopefully this is not the norm. It's really not all that bad just a little annoying.

I thought the same thing, but I switched from Firefox to Chrome and after a couple of episodes, it's back to freezing. Only for me, it's like every 5 minutes or less. So it's quite frustrating.

I'll try it on another browser, but I really shouldn't have to.

I was "trying" to finish Bladedance of the Elementals last night & was getting really annoyed at freezing and stuttering . I sent in a support ticket once before & received the usual cut & paste response . They just don't seem to care except to get new subscribers . At least it works on my 360 (limited to 720p).

I'm just a free user that has been a member for years. I don't really mind the commercials, except when the same one plays 50 times in a row. ;p

I try crunchyroll on computer's - Mac & Windows based both
I try on my phone i5 & ipad... Get hooked on a show & it just randomly freezes. Rebooting doesn't help,, can't select a different series - I haven't even tried the simulcasts... sounds like those are even a worse nightmare.

I admit, the repetitive freezing periods gets old year after year. Glad I never paid for service.

I know netflix & amazon are larger platforms, but if crunchyroll just had a fraction of the quality of play, I know they would have ton more subscribers, myself included.

Just took me more then an Hour to watch an episode of Naruto; the past few months have been really bad for freezing, skiping, rewinding......i really don't want to have to leave; i've used this site so much and i love it but things are becoming unwatchable.
