I'll probably still give it a try, I'm curious lol. No matter who it's written by.

tbh I'll read anything AoT related by now. There is just so many mysteries, I'm hoping a lot of questions will be answered with this new manga. There's also one (it's only a chapter long I think) about Rivaille

How can they be answered if the author is different? He doesn't know what's in the mind of Hajime Isayama.

It's not like he's making the manga for the Lulz's. He's working with the original mangaka on the direction of the story, plus it's the manga adaptation of a light novel which, not only being written by a well-known Japanese author, was also approved by the original mangaka or else it wouldn't be in existence as canon. He hasn't said it wasn't not canon, anyway. At any time, he can just retcon the work if he sees fit anyhow.

Hm... well, I would be interested in how this exactly works. Because for me it's a big difference between "work together" and "approve". If they're working together then I would be interested in this story, at least to find clues. But if these authors kinda invent their stuff and go ask Isayama if it fits, and Isayama: "uhmm, well, it doesn't conflict with my story and design it's okay", then I'm not really interested.

For the most part this story seem to be a side story, meaning it doesn't aim to explain anything that happens in the original. It's just some events which also happened in the past. So I understand that Isayama could declare them "canon" easily, without giving a lot of information.

Anyway, nothing for me (besides a possible hints source). The fact alone that there's people investing their creative energy in a story of someone else, makes it, in my eyes, only a high quality version of fan-art.

Well this story is mainly to tell how the 3D Maneuver Gear was invented. That's about it.

Good for people who write fan-fiction, like me, since it broadens potential information I might use in a story and, it just simply adds to the world that is Attack on Titan.
