Well.. the main reason I want it is because of Pokemon. But the Nintendo 3ds XL is so expensive like holy ****. buying a 3ds with Pokemon X or Y will be spending around 250$. although buying a 2DS will be just around 170$. what makes me mad is that I can completely afford it yet I'm being so cheap. A 3DS emulator is nowhere near out so this is the only choice I got.Is spending 250$ for the Pokemon experience worth it?I got the money but i am confused of whether I should get it or not.

I was also planning to play black 2 and soul silver later on.

It'll be a long time before there a 3DS emulator.
A legit one.
If the XL is to much, there's always the vanilla 3DS.

I really really want it and i can totally afford the XL. I don't have any friends that use
the system and besides what is there to play other than Pokemon? I wonder what will they
say if they hear about me spending 250$ just to play Pokemon lol.

Lol,.
well for starters, the 3DS has a pretty good library of games. So It really comes down to what kind of games you like.

I don't really play Nintendo games anymore. I have a regular DS though, but, if I were to choose, I mean, the thing is the same, just different buttons and the graphics because then it'll become 3D. They're making a better and bigger console like xBox 360 and the PS3. So yeah, they're about to hit the spots probably with a new console really soon.

I wouldn't recommend the purchase just to play Pokémon. But there are tons of great titles that have come out and are going to come out in the future. They have a lot of good RPGs being released, plus there always the backwards compatibility with normal DS games (although they kind of get distorted on the XL). Dropping hundreds of dollars on 3 Pokémon games is not worth it, but dropping it to get 3 Pokémon games, plus the great library the ds/3ds offers, I would say yes.

Do it. Think of the Pokemon. They need you.

I guess it comes down to how much you want to play pokemon? LOL like I was like this before cuz I wasn't sure if I wanted a 3DS either because I just wanted to play Tales of the Abyss remake since I don't have a ps2. And then Fire Emblem came out so that made me make up my mind so I basically just got a 3DS to play those two games since I wanted them sooooo badly! But since I have a 3DS I also got into buying some other games too. so if you REALLY REALLY want to play pokemon no matter what then just get one. Otherwise maybe you should wait and see if other good games come out too?

Zelda and Mario aren't the only things you can play on it.

Pokemon is one thing, but you should look at the other good titles. Tales of the Abyss and Fire Emblem were mentioned, but if you're into JRPGs, there's also the Megaten series, from Shin Megami Tensei IV and Devil Survivor: Overclocked (remake from the DS game) and the yet-translated Devil Survivor 2: Break Record.

There's Monster Hunter 3, and there's also the sequel to 9 Doors, 9 Persons, 9 Hours, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance is also available, as well as rhythm games.

The 3DS can also play DS games, so you can pick up prequels if you'd like (since you mentioned that you wanted to play DS games). If any of those titles (or others) interest you, there's also the question of what sort of console do you prefer. My friend swears by the 3DS XL, but I'm fine with the original, since it's not as unwieldy or huge.

Between the 3DS options and the 2DS, that will depend on your preference. I can hardly stand it beyond the minimum 3D effect, or remove it entirely. If I could, I'd get the 2DS, but it's not exactly all that portable either (it's like one of the tablets for the Ten Commandments) but it's worth it for the price. For Pokemon, the 3D function isn't all that important. So it depends on your needs.

YES. There's going to be a lot more Nintendo exclusives than just Pokemon games. I'd get an XL if I were you, but if you can't afford it, a regular 3DS is just fine. There's also a 2DS, which I would recommend if you can't afford an XL, because the 3D effect is horrible no matter what 3DS model you get (in my opinion)

Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, Super Smash Bros. Brawl (being released on 3ds and wii u), Mario Kart, Kid Icarus. Pokemon isn't the only reason to buy a 3DS system.
