Had the limited edition of rebellion pre-ordered, just got the time to watch it tonight, finished it moments ago... As the credits started to roll i sat on the edge of my couch with my eyes wide open and my mouth open even wider and didnt flinch or breath till the main menu popped up again! WTF?!?!

So i immediately jumped online and searched for any news of a fourth movie! I will be CRUSHED if they end the movies this way!!! So not how I hoped my favorite anime would end... It was great but they really need to bring it back around to "the good guys win in the end" territory... that was a heart breaking ending... Which isnt unisual in the anime world, just not what I wS expecting from such a beautiful show/ movie.

I find it VERY strange that they have no plans at this time to make another movie... So is that to say they INTENDED TO END THE FRANCHISE WITH A MISERABLE SAD ENDING??? It just isnt sitting right with me.... Personally.

Just watched it last night, And I can say.. probably one of the best movies I have ever watched. Action packed,Tragedy,Brilliant animation,Storyline is brilliant. It all comes together to make one epic movie!

Though the ending got me there, did not expect that sad of an ending where Homura became the devil in order to save Madoka from her crap ending of being "god".

The fight between Homura and Mami was brilliant! kept me on the edge of my seat! Wish I had seen this movie on a big screen, would've been even better.

And glad that Kyubey got his shitty ending, He deserved it in every way possible, messing up the lives of Magical Girls for his "experiments"

Im holding thumbs for a Movie 4 or a Season 2 for Madoka. Ending had a cliffhanger feeling to it. Where Homura becomes the devil, and all the other magical girls (Sayaka,Mami,Kyouko) still sense her presence. Sayaka wants to battle Homura aswell. This is indeed not a happy ending. And I wish for more madoka! To bad that 2015 Greenlit of Madoka movie 4 was a april fools joke! :c

9/10 for the movie, was really well played and loved every second of it. Would recommend to anyone :3

Nah not really, as you said the first two movies are essentially a retelling of the madoka magica complete series, no new information takes place. The newest movie, Rebellion, picks up where the show ends basically. Its very confusing at first, it doesnt seem to make much sense based on where we left off in the last movie, or the end of tthe series. But you find out why it doesnt make sense after a bit.

Really wish i saw it on the big screen. Sadly i live on cape cod and anime culture is unheard of here. There wasnt even anywhere to buy anime on the cape (other than paying retail prices for 5-10 dofferent animes at best buy) so i started up an anime business myself! Mostly thru ebay but now i have access to all the anime I want and im spreading my love of the genre to whomever is open to it! OTAKUS UNITE!!!!!

Just finished the movie and well...I don't know. Not what I was expecting, but if I knew what to expect it wouldn't be Madoka Magica. The story was brilliant, managed to be a tragedy without killing off any major characters. The animation and music were amazing. I liked how they further showed the characters. It did a lot of things right, but ending it on that note made me want to see a fourth movie to give it proper closure.

Just finished watching the movie! I Don't really know how to feel about it...
The animation, the ost, and everything is amazing. The story is too, up until that point (Though i still love it ~) I dunno, it just feels kinda forced just so they can continue the franchise. My favourite scene is definitely Homura vs Mami, really wished i saw this in the cinemas! Somehow, i ended up really liking Nagisa, even though she didn't really do anything xD

All in all, i'll give it 8-9/10. I Didn't really mind the ending (also relieved that it's not as bad as people say) and it would most likely give us more Madoka in the future! because i really hope they're not ending it like this

I saw this movie a couple times now... And it has not only left me with the feeling of "The Void" that I haven't felt in years now, but it also started messing with my head. I need to go on a binge of more light hearted series to just recuperate, and I have NEVER had that problem watching dark stuff before. XD

In any case, I loved the movie, and I don't mind the ending at all. It makes sense in the context of the movie and the hints were there to lead up to what ultimately happens. 9/10 for me.

I watched this in theaters and I enjoyed it. I didn't mind the ending; at that moment I was like . I can see why it bothered some people.

There was actually some foreshadowing like the familiars saying "Gott ist tot!" in one scene and the OP sequence. And seeing Kyubey getting his butt kicked brought a smile on my face.

I bought the import Limited Edition Blu-Ray for about $100, and I must say it was a hundred dollars well spent. Well-executed movie, with a pretty well-done tragedy/bad ending. Almost reminds me of when I watched End of Evangelion for the first time more than 10 years ago; it's great to have tragedy endings every now and then.

I remember seeing it in theaters a while back. Definitely enjoyed it, the ending caught me by surprise and personally...they've got legs to possibly do a second season with the way it ended.

I'm really surprised nobody has brought up that blasted wasteland they've shown twice now. They showed it at the end of the series and then again near the end of the movie when Homura woke up. Where is that place? Is that all that remains of Mitakihara, or is most of the world like that now? Homura said that the world isn't worth fighting for at the end of the series, but is that simply because Madoka isn't there anymore or is the world little more than a barren desert after the Wraiths showed up?

And what of the wraiths themselves? They briefly showed them at the end of the series and mentioned them only twice in the movie that I can recall. It seems pretty clear from the end of the series that their numbers are greater than those of the witches but how strong are they in comparison? Are their numbers manageable, or is that blasted wasteland we saw the result of overwhelming numbers of wraiths that just can't be fought off? Since Kyubey is trying this experiment I wonder if maybe the incubators see this as a situation that can't be resolved through current means, and so they're looking for something that won't lead to a bad end. Remember, humanity is the only source of entropy free energy they've been able to find, so if humans go extinct the incubators fail.

In all, it seems to me that maybe these things are here to hint that maybe the new world that Madoka created isn't as full of sunshine and roses as we're being led to believe. It's true that magical girls now have a better end, but what is the true cost of that?

Anyways, this movie has moved me from the camp of people who dislike Kyubei but understand his reasons and put me solidly in the "Go die motherfucker!" camp. After seeing what his machinations caused with Madoka and Homura I was glad to see him all beat up at the end. Also, my Madoka x Homura faith is stronger than ever.
