I feel the same way suiko, I just watched it today too. and omg.. I am just considering the entire movie to be fan-fiction.. LOL I won't spoil anything, but just to give everyone an idea of how.. how.. "amazing" this ending was.. When the movie ended EVERYONE in the theater I was in (and it was packed) didnt move or a say a word for like 2 minutes.. and it remained that way until one random guy screamed WHAT?!?! then everyone started talking lol.. but yeah... The ending was something else o_o lol

This article just came out today on ANN in which there was a question and answer session with some of the guys that worked on the movie. Here's one of the questions in regards to possible installments:

"After Rebellion, do you have any plans for the Madoka franchise in the future?"

Iwakami: "No, we don't have any plans. The world of Madoka is great, and I love all the characters, so personally, if we have a great plot scenario, I personally would love to make something else Madoka. But at this point, as of right now, we don't have any official plans."

Man, I really don't want this series to end like this...

Having just seen the movie, I'd give it an A++ for visuals and an omgwtfbbq for writing. Not sure if that will change with time, or after a second viewing...

Here be spoilers!

Anyone know if there was something after the credits? The theater I was in suddenly stopped the movie halfway through them.

Yes, they should make a 5 second sequel with a few sentences that go...

Ouch!! That's too bad, (if I remember correctly) there was actually a small scene with...
The sad part is, when the credits started rolling at the theater I was at, the lights came on, so some people started leaving, and I was thinking, "Wait a sec, there might be more AFTER the credits just like in the TV series!" But then again, I started to think, "shouldn't the workers here know if there's something afterwards?" I guess they didn't, lol.

I read all about the ending because the creator did NOT want that ending (even going to twitter to show the hand-written note making her change it) but was forced by the anime director to change it to what you saw simply because they wanted to expand the franchise. I refuse to see it on principle because of what it alters.

Expand it into what? The next Evangelion? Never gonna happen.

Do not see Puella Magi Madoka Magica: a New Story, the Rebellion Story, or any Puella Magi or Studio Shaft productions, for the sake of seeing the film until direct sequels to this movie are announced and have release dates slated.

Was not trying to say it is anti-feminist. Was trying to say what you are: it is mess. A beautiful mess, yet still a mess.

With the amount of money they are making and the way it ended i am sure they will make another movie atleast. For better or worse they are going to milk this for all it worth.

How did you think Evangelion got so big to what it is now? It takes years to build something like Evangelion so maybe PMMM is still not as big as Evangelion but with non ending tie-ins and a movie every few years then it will continue building it's fanbase like Evangelion.

PMMM is the only anime atm that has the potential to be another Evangelion so I can't blame Iwakami and Shinbo if they try to make it another Evangelion. After all the money involved in all of this is no laughing matter.

I just don't think it's every going to be the next Evangelion. Eva's too big over there, just like Gundam.

A movie every few years would dry it out fast. The three new ones were kind of stretching it, in my opinion. The series is fine as it is. They should've adapted the spin-off mangas instead. There's around three of them so far, maybe four. Those would be more than enough.

I thought the ending and movie was perfect, just what we needed, but maybe not what we wanted.
