Yea. That would help, cause it would be able to let you know when chapters would come out

For the last issue, they had a date for when it would come out. It was useful for the monthlies. I don't know why they stopped doing that.

For those reading on Crunchyroll, a bunch of new volumes have been added--so we've got up to chapter 76 now!!

Just 5 more chapters to close the gap.

Afternoon magazine comes out on the 25th of EVERY month. So assuming he doesn't take a month off, it should have been out today in Japan, yesterday really.

Edit: But I think it took the month off. Volume 11 is coming out so they are promoting it, perhaps he fixes stuff up for the tankobon this month? I don't see it in the list anyway:

Unfortunately Crunchyroll takes out the bit which says if next month's issue has the next chapter or not. I always check that when I buy the Japanese magazines.

I agree that this series needs to be released on a more frequent basis, at least semi-monthly (twice a month). MGX is such a good series.

Would be nice but... it has more or less been released monthly since 2004 and he seems to be running out of ideas so I would be completely shocked if it went to a twice monthly schedule.

I agree that it would be nice if this Manga went to a more frequent schedule. But I think that the artist is suffering from “Peanuts” syndrome. He is caught in a world where the characters are not aging. He is doing this to reflect an attitude that teenagers should not enter into a sexual relationship until they are older. I think that if Urabe and Tsubaki ever kissed, that would be the end of the series.
Personally I wished that Mr. Ueshiba would remove this time restraint. Allow his characters to grow and mature. But if he did this he would have to answer the question of when a sexual relationship would be viable to start. The reason why this Manga works is that we have the sexual tension between the two main characters and we wonder how far they will go. If they never do anything until they are say, in college or even married, the audience will lose interest.

Not to mention that it is released in a MAGAZINE. That magazine is MONTHLY. It isn't like the mangaka can just up and change how frequently the magazine is published! LOL

If Tsubaki and Urabe ever kissed...oh LAWD have mercy...forget fireworks--those two are seeing atomic bombs.

And if they decide to go "all the way"...well then...can you say "Armageddon"?

Talk about the "big bang", it might just rewrite the entire universe! LOL

An Interesting thought, the universe just rewriting itself.
Dark Matter would become visible
The big bang would turn into the big collapse.
And the rocks would stay on the ground when a Dragonball character was powering themselves up for a fight

Hey now, let's not get CRAZY here. DBZ exists in its own universe where everything is made up and gravity does not matter.

Now if/when Tsubaki and Urabe make love for the first time, however...then all bets are off.

Well, if the mangaka talks to the publisher they could move it to one of their other publications. Evening is another Kodansha seinen magazine, published every OTHER month so if he wanted to slow things down, he could do so. I'm not sure if Kodansha has a weekly or twice monthly seinen publication but moving to another publisher is also another possibility if he doesn't like the release schedules available at Kodansha.

But in my opinion he doesn't have a lot of ideas left. He is just doing random chapters lately IMO. I still read them but I'm not dying to read them like I was for the first 8-9 volumes.

I do get the feeling that he is working toward their first kiss in this arc. The question is: does that spell the end? When you think about it, kissing isn't what the voice Urabe heard when she fell off of her chair laughing in school was talking about... :)

Here are the release past dates for Mysterious Girlfriend X for the past year. As you can see, most of them have been roughly a month a part, every now and then there are 2 month jumps, but there were 12 releases for the whole year.

Mysterious Girlfriend X 73 : The Mysterious Christmas 01/15/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 74 : The Mysterious New Year's Card 02/05/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 75 : The Mysterious Valentine 03/09/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 76 : The Mysterious White Day 04/10/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 77 : The Mysterious Softball-Game 06/17/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 78 : The Mysterious One-Piece 07/21/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 79 : The Mysterious Poolside 08/19/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 80 : The Mysterious Fireworks 10/06/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 81 : The Mysterious Back story 10/30/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 82 : The Mysterious Tennis Court 12/27/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 83 : Mysterious Shutter Chance 12/27/2013
Mysterious Girlfriend X 84 : Tsubaki vs. Urabe 12/27/2013

Hopes this answers the question of how often it is printed. Now if it would only release something new this year.

On a different note...

One story line that I have been wondering about is Urabe's family. I have noticed that there are never there. I am getting the feeling that she is the typical "living by themselves" anime teenage student. Also, it seems to me that Urabe is very busy. She half the time say that she needs to go do something when Tsubaki wants to do something with her. Their private time together is the time they walk back from school and do their ritual, she has to make time in her schedule for him for anything else.

I guess that it is all a part of being mysterious though. I really do think that he has lots of story lines left still, but you have to wonder what the artist has in mind when he is making chapters that resemble one another too much.
