For some reason my first manga was seinen so I have always had to deal with kanji. Like making things difficult for myself...

I'll probably buy some of the manga in the future, just because I want to own it so badly. Hopefully forcing myself to try and read it will help me with my Japanese.

This is probably what I need to do. Buy some series in Japanese that I really love, like MGX or Nisekoi, and that would probably force me to start learning Japanese properly rather than glancing at a few sources every couple of months.

You should! Nisekoi isn't that hard to read at all! I really want to get some Nisekoi volumes myself, I've only been reading the raws I can find online. Another manga that's relatively easy to read in Japanese is Fuuka, which just started recently.

Indeed that is the best way. Read to learn to read was my method. Find a series you love and really want to read in Japanese and go for it!

Just wanted to say I love this manga. I was a little freaked out by the premise, but it has me hooked.

So a new chapter came out, Ch 89. Curry for lunch and dinner. Somewhat attempt at a kiss.

Nothing major for this series really.

That chapter reminded me of a chapter of Say I Love You... except Mei knew Yamato's kisses tasted like fried chicken! And since they both had curry I don't know what the problem would have been anyway! Just another excuse for them not to kiss... we shall be teased forever by this manga...

Heh thinking about it yeah does remind of me that.

Yeah this series... I feel like the author wants them to kiss, and soon... but keeps only just teasing at it right now. Of course it doesn't help that it is a monthly release so it is worse cause it is a month of waiting only to be teased again.

I really wish they didn't care so much about everything. A first kiss isn't the biggest thing. The story really needs to go somewhere soon...

From my understanding from Anime, my Japanese neighbors, and things that are talked about on this site and others.

To Japanese, just a hug (between people who have feelings for each other at least) is a big thing. First kiss is like only a step below actual marriage practically. They are not huge on the whole skinship thing that at least here in the states we kind of just take for granted.

Obviously not EVERYONE is the same and I am probably over exaggerating immensely. But it seems more common from what I have seen to not be all lovey dovey and stuff like that, where here in States, we just kind of don't care? I guess...

I know it's a big deal there in Japan. But for the sake of the story I think they should at least move somewhat forward, you know? It has to happen sometime.

I like someone's theory a while back that by chapter 100 we'll get the first kiss. So 11 more months to go and another birthday as well.

Either way I'll be reading that chapter when it does happen for sure.
