I had signed up for a 14 day trial and didn't notice that I had been sent a 30 day one earlier that day so I figured since the 30 day one expires in 14 days that I would just wait until about the 13th day and cancel it and then use the 30 day one. Well when I click on the link to activate it I get the message at the top saying "Welcome back Plantz! Please enjoy this Special Free Trial offer just for you!" but right under that it also says "You are ineligible for the free trail because you already had a free trail or are currently a Premium Member" So is there a certain cool down period between after you've had one trial before you can activate another? I kind of hope not because it would suck not being able to use that 30 day one, but if so then oh well. I still appreciate it.

CR does eventually reset the eligibility for a free trial, but unless things have changed, it isn't a set period. At the time it was last explained, CR simply resets the free trial eligibility on a broad basis at period intervals.

For reasons that should be obvious, CR doesn't want people to normally be able to use multiple free trials.

You might try contacting customer service directly, give them the information on your 30 day trial, and see if they will reactivate you for the 16 day difference.
