Yes, every time you see the words "PETA" and "Nintendo" together you can expect it to be about Pokemon.

A mother/PETA member is entirely viral about the new Pokemon games that got released, as it got way out of hand in my opinion.

This is the full article of the incident.

They need to leave my video games alone -_-. A feminist brought attention to the fact that video games objectify women a while back. Even though fans went to far with her, they need to chill out. They should worry more about their parenting skills if Pokemon is traumatizing their children.

The fun part about Nintendo being sued is that it was the mother who was "traumatized," not the teenager. The woman had to wrestle the game away from her daughter.

From the article:

According to her, she nearly bought the game for her daughter until she saw the connection between “Green Leaf” and marijuana. “My daughter may have become a serial killer or worse, an animal abuser, if I had bought her the game,” she recalled, “I considered suing Nintendo right then for causing me so much distress all those years ago. Are there even any Christians at Nintendo?”

WHAT!?!?! AN ANIMAL ABUSER IS WORSE THAN A SERIAL KILLER???

dear lord -.- she recalled, “I considered suing Nintendo right then for causing me so much distress all those years ago. Are there even any Christians at Nintendo? *facepalm* i hate when they have to pull up religion in an argument especially since Nintendo is a Japanese company, and well most Japanese people arent Christians so of course their isnt. My daughter may have become a serial killer or worse, an animal abuser, if I had bought her the game o my lord, your daughter is a teenager, i doubt a pokemon game would influence her like that. -.-

The mother is a moron, as far as I'm concerned. I hope her case gets dropped in court, due to how ridiculous it is. Also, Nintendo is bound to have great lawyers on its side. If all goes well, she'll be chewed up and spat out by the court system.

EDIT: Assuming that the article is indeed fake, it's sad that the situation is plausible. PETA has done crazy crap before.

I can't be the only one who has trouble believing this "article", can I? I mean, come on. Yes, some people tend toward the crazy side of the sanity spectrum, but this is a bit ridiculous. I call bullshit.

I saw this earlier and I continue to laugh every time I ever see something about PETA come up.
They're great at providing entertainment for the world. If only they weren't hypocrites who kill animals that they claim to protect.

I can't see it being true in all honesty. It looks like attention seeking to me personally but you never know with PETA.

Oh they're crazy enough for it. This isn't the first time PETA has had it out for Pokemon. Look up Pokemon Black and Blue.

There's no way it's true. I may have believed it if they didn't push the conservative bat-crazy mommy stereotype so hard. "Are there even any Christians at Nintendo?" Are you kidding me?

That, and the hilarious reaction supposedly from this woman's teenage daughter. Really, it was lawl-worthy.

Learn how to spot bullshitters, kids. It's a valuable life lesson.

I have seen other PETA related incidents with Nintendo. Not the one you mentioned, though. I do not doubt that someone, somewhere, would have some of the thoughts of this "mother". But all of them together? In this exact way? Nope, not buying it.

I have a friend who has never played pokemon because of her crazy religious parents. Even so...

"Sources also say that Bryant recently filed for divorce after catching her husband hiding in the bathroom on the toilet playing the game. He apparently told her to “fuck off” as he was about to catch a Shiny Mr. Mime."

Yes, ma'am. I rest my case.
