Depends really.

I'm not a fan at all of crossing over car makes and models (e.x. fitting Supra tail lights on an Accord etc.)

I'd like to do an S13 conversion myself if I owned that year model, or maybe even a Sil-Eighty if I can't find a coupe

only bodykits, no head or tail light conversions?

I love taillights S13 lights :]

IMO as long as you stay within the brand and don't do anything stupid (like Supra wing on MR2) then it's fine.

Just converting the body is a little lame, IMO. If you do the engine swap and everything (the price of importing a JDM vehicle legally [especially one not on the RI's list already] is pretty expensive) from it's respective overseas counterpart, then I think it's fine.

But.. as mentioned above, no mixing of parts from other makes/models..

I was behind an Accord with 3rd gen Supra tails w/ an unpainted body kit and loud fart can (in the left-turn lane). He must have thought he had the turn signal, b/c he launched it and t-boned a minivan going straight.

I didn't feel the least bit of remorse for that car, 1 less ricer IMO

what boards are these? that ppl look down on silvia conversions? I really dont care about what they do with it as long as their happy.

the whole conversion stuff to what they have in japan is cooler on alot of cars, ae86, s13,s14, cressidas, integras, etc.

now for mixing the brands or models, its all gonna depend on how it looks when its done.

now whats wrong with this corolla? anyone notice?

As long as it's either the same manufacturer and/or if it looks DECENT.

Turning a Civic into an Impreza IS NOT decent....

It's their money, so they can do whatever they want to. I rather just get the authentic one than a look-alike.

You can get S15's in the states easily. ^_^

I have to disagree with that one. I come from the rx7 world where some engine swaps are just impractical. For instance, one of my buds did a front end conversion on an FC (second gen rx7) to make it look like an FD (third gen) but left the engine alone because the 13B-REW in the FD is a BITCH to get into an FC. And the FC's little turbo 13B can make plenty of power.
