All thoughts arise on their own. You could say they arise from nowhere.

This is a fact.

The alternative would require that we pre-think our thoughts before we think them.

Which makes zero sense.

Did you figure that out on your own? If not, where'd you learn it? It sounds kind of Buddhist. But I also agree with you, there isn't a thinker behind the thought.

Always happy to suggest reading material.

Consciousness Explained -- Dr. Daniel C. Dennett, Ph.D.
Free Will -- Dr. Sam Harris, Ph.D.
How the Mind Works -- Dr. Steven Pinker, Ph.D.

Insanity can be a fun pastime from time to time. I revel in it. As long as you know exactly how crazy you are, things shouldn't turn out too bad. Of course, I only have myself as the source on that, so on the off-chance that I'm wrong, please don't kill anyone.

it's normal OP, random outbursts of rage and violent thoughts...it only becomes a problem when you actually give in to those thoughts and turn them into actions.

You sound like my kind of girl.
I used to be a guard and I would pass the time by thinking up different ways to kill everyone in the room and mess up the furniture.
It may or may not have made me better at preventing disaster.
But I've been that way since forever.
When I actually want to be evil, I figure it's just my inclination to stay neutral and maintain the balance with my goody two shoes ways.

I think everyone gets thoughts and impulses like that. It is not an obsessive or personality disorder.

No, those thoughts are human. We are a predatory species. Even a loving dog might nip at its master if the master approaches the food bowl. There are things in this world which just irritate and set us off. HAVING those impulses is what makes us human. It is part of what we are. But unlike other predators, we have brains and reason to control those impulses. Properly channeled, those impulses can be used for good (or at least, good for us). We would not have the internet, cellphones, communication satellites, or pretty much any other technology if it weren't for our predatory drives to screw the other guy over. EVERY major technological advancement in human history can either directly or indirectly traced back to our primal urges.

The problem is that "good" people are too arrogant and ashamed to admit that they have these thoughts. Ignoring a problem does not make it go away. Pretending that you don't have BO does not make you clean. Only when you realize that you stink and take a bath do you lose the stench. Otherwise you become a breeding ground for bacteria. Likewise, it is only by accepting the predatory part of ourselves can we ever hope to be decent people. Ignoring that part of our nature allows for greater evil in the world. The bad guys never worry about whether or not they are bad guys.

In the words of Dr. Steven Pinker: three quarters of all men admit to having fantasized about killing someone, half of all women admit the same -- and the rest are liars.

That pretty much sums it up.

So long as you are wise enough to realize that you have these impulses and rational enough to control them, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you.

This video discusses the ideas of horror and ambiguity in the human mind--including cognitive dissonance and impulsive thoughts like killing a loved one.

Vsauce can be quite an addicting channel.

Thank god, she's the first one to admit it.

I also have some thoughts lingering...

like if a ghost exist and tries to pester me around, the ghost should know that I could be a ghost too.
And, since I could be a ghost and exist for some time, that ghost would suffer under my wrath.

Also, if a dog attacks me, I would grab it by the mouth and forcefully split it into two.
