Ok, so I've been watching anime for quite some time (actually since Bebop actually came out) and I have come across a very, beautifully orchestrated anime. Well, you guessed it by the title, Gargantia on the Verderous Planet!
Since this is a discussion(and someone already posted about this), I just want to know what your favorite scenes/parts are. I know I'm posting this extra late, but I'm re-watching this with my friend and she thoroughly enjoys it too.

On a side note, is it me or is Gargantia really underrated and not as popular as some anime should be?

And my first actual post on CR!

I like gargantia and agree it is underrated. It was really sweet and had great character development, animation, and a hillarious mech. I was disappointed with all the fluff @ the end.

It is pretty underrated. I really enjoyed that show while it was airing. The plot and themes were it's strong point, but it could have been EPIC with a bit more character depth and less clichés. I really couldn't believe ANY of the characters. Ledo almost got there, almost, but every time he started to show some emotion and depth, they cut away to some mecha scene. It made for a strange blend of pandering to fans and trying to create something amazing.

Highlight of the show was--

I also love love loved the final scene with Chamber. Yeah, it was a bit corny, but I thought it was a strangely fitting finale. It made me grin like an idiot.

I don't have the heart to reopen this can of worms, the OP is too enthusiastic.

That said, a mod will probably come around and close this in order to keep any Gargantia discussion in the discussion thread, so we should probably move there if people want to start discussing it again and stuff.

Hi! I'm a bit of a Gargantia basher, but I respect your enthusiasm.

Gargantia was pretty cool, but it did kind of slow down for 3 episodes which i think kind of hurt the show. Still in the end i really liked it

Sorry moonlit_haze to do this to your very first thread, but we do have a rule against duplicate threads, so I'm going to have to close this, since, as Insomnist mentioned, there is already a discussion thread. (Maybe we can think of it as a friendly initiation?)

However, we really do like it when existing threads get freshened up with thoughts and questions from new viewers, or folks rewatching--that can generate new discussion all around. So please do share your thoughts over in the existing thread:

I enjoyed Gargantia a lot, but I don't feel I ever know enough about the broad view of a show to make a judgment of whether or not a show is overrated or underrated. Many folks here seemed to be very enthusiastic about it, even though I think everyone had at least one thing about the show they didn't care for.
