In any type of consoles and gadgets out there, do you cheat in games? Do you use codes, walkthroughs, duplications, etc?

(xbox, 360, ps, ps2, ps3, atari, sega, snes, gameboy, brick games, cellphone, etc.)

I respect this one.

Sometimes I can't even start a campaign, even without using any cheat codes, because I'm doing something on my avatar. Like how high can it jump, can it kill npcs or anyone, should I brake every thing to see if any prize comes up, etc.

Walkthroughs:

If you've ever played Disgaea, you would know that the entire point of the game is to exploit its systems, not to mention that it would take you years to figure everything out for yourself, let alone 100% the game, with no help. So yes, I have cheated in games. I have the hardcover guide for Disgaea D2 on hand, now, and I will undoubtedly need it in the future.

Other than that, it depends; I only like to have help in most games when I'm in an emergency situation. For instance, when I played FFXIII, I didn't have any problems getting through the game, except for the final boss [ One-Hit-Kills are pretty harsh ]. I checked the guide to see if there was any way around it... saw that there really wasn't any 100% fool-proof way, and just prepared my team as much as I could.

So, unless it's Disgaea (or any other insane game NIS will inevitably come up with), I only use a guide for emergencies.

Codes:

Only when it makes the game more fun. Usually, though, I prefer a challenge for my first playthrough.

Duplications:

...I was about to say no, but I remember being guilty of this in Fable II. That "Use Item / Insta-Pause & Use It Again" glitch saved me so much time and money on EXP Potions...I feel really bad now.

Overall:

Yes, I have cheated in games many times. In the end, though, it depends on what game I'm playing, where I am in the game, and whether or not I'm having trouble completing a certain part of it.

Edit: Bonus:

Going back to Disgaea... There's a CHEAT SHOP designed into Disgaea D2, which you are supposed to use in order to progress through the Post-Game material. The game was literally designed for exploitation.

If I'm stuck on a part of a game and I've spent a good amount of time without being able to figure out how to move on? I'll use a walk through if it takes really long, but usually only for that one part. For visual novels, I'll use a walk through if there are multiple endings. More so than just three.

As for codes or glitches? Yes, although after I beat the game. Usually just because the codes and glitches are fun to mess with.

On single player, I might take a few seconds to look at a walkthrough and then be like "oh, that's how you do it" and then close the walkthrough and carry on.

Multiplayer: never. That's why I lose so much. XP

I used guides some time ago but i noticed it ruined every game for me since i tried to do 100% of things. If i decided to do 2nd playthrough i use guides since i want that 100% but not the first time.

I mean just look at Pokemons guide for min-maxing etc. Sometimes is better to play casually without thinking to deep about efficiency.

I use some net info like info in Harvest Moon about crops or animals. I mean how i'm supposed to find out that chicken for example need 2 Treats and 29 Chicken Treats to increase productivity? I don't like blindly trying everything, and game don't give you any info about that. Of course, i can just save and try combination, then reload try another. But i see no point in doing it. In case of gifts for characters you can just look at responses, their job and use some logic, so it's not trying randomly, but in case of animals or how fertilizing works?
