There is an announcement in the magazine that hasn't been made fully public yet.
I hope we won't have to go through another bad relationship before Yuzuki repairs the damage Haruto's stupidity has wrought!

I hope it is animated, but I'd rather see the manga end already because of all these feels. Very interested in the announcement is...

Well, it is one of the most effective at evoking emotion in its readers of any manga I have ever read. Those emotions may not always be positive ones, but they are real and strong. That says something, at least.

Well, my presumption is that they cannot animate the end without the end occurring. If they are announcing one, it is tantamount to the other, which suggests that the current "troubles" will not last long.

Really, if they do last a long time, or even involve a time-skip and any inkling of either of the two entering into another relationship, I may lose all respect for Seo as an author. The concept that two people who have been through what these two have been through in order to be together would give it up with such ease is preposterous! It is just bad writing.

(But I'll probably keep reading Princess Lucia even if I lose respect for him, since that story is preposterous by its very nature and the art is, frankly, amazing!)

I can understand the couple's feelings, because I too need a break from this bullshit. I think that I am done with this until he finishes it.

The art, characters and development are top notch, but the plot twists can be rage inducing. Very few manga follow the relationship of two people as long and as far as this one has been (multiple years in story time), so if you like something really deep and involving this is a great manga. However, how well it ultimately fares in history will depend on how the author wraps it up and right now he may have gone a plot twist too far.

If there is any potential light at the end of this cycle of suffering is that the ultimate lesson may be that this couple can survive anything. Note that each time their relationship is threatened/parted (all the way from their very first meeting as children), their love grew stronger when they met again. There is a bit of security in that: no matter who they end up with or where they are, their passion will only grow bigger.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Great point. That makes me feel better, but even still, how much bigger can their passion grow? It's gonna pop at some point.

I still say he should end this and then start his next series using Daiki and Seiga as the main characters. (Seiga-kun would have to be the sempai. Maybe Daiki would have a little sister who would be Seiga-kun's love interest and Daiki would be the over-protective big brother?)

In any case, that would allow us to keep seeing Yuzuki on a regular basis! Maybe their teacher could be Fuuka from Suzuka? LOL

It started off pretty well (the first 60-70 chapters), and in the beginning it was a decent slice of life manga. Whilst Haruto's always been an awkward, clunky and slightly whiny character, the early chapters had a variety of well-constructed characters, and told some interesting stories. The early manga was about an average guy living life in a small town and going to school. Where other girls liked other guys, and weren't totally besotted with the main character.

But then as one of the guys on this thread has mentioned, then the rage inducing plot twists begun. The series changed into a generic harem show, with no strong male characters and the girls sitting around like old maids looking wistfully at Haruto. Leading into storm in a teacup dramas that blew over the next week.

Well, this is an image from the site for Shounen Weekly that has at least part of the volume 28 OAD announcement:

Anybody that can read Japanese care to translate what it says about Kimi no Iru Machi? I don't know if there is more than just this or not. No word online about anything other than the fact that it was announced and some vague stuff from the scanilators...

Edit: BTW, it is on this page: http://kc.kodansha.co.jp/magazine/index.php/02065/next

Since that seems to be the page about the NEXT volume, perhaps that means that there will be more info in a week? (sigh)

So, if the announcement is in the 8th issue, which is coming out next week, and the finale is in the 11th issue, that means 4 more chapters? And, the OAD that was listed originally as:

The 27th limited-edition manga volume will include a special anime episode produced in full cooperation with Seo.

is going to be the ending of the story...

I like that! I am actually very glad that the manga is ending, because it is one that I really loved, even if I came late to the party and read the first 230 chapters or so in four days over the summer. If it had dragged on much longer, I would have started disliking it, because his methods of prolonging the story, especially the most recent break-up, are growing more and more illogical.

My guess is that Yuzuki will show up at his place (this would bring things back to the beginning of the manga) They will marry allowing for a parade of the characters from earlier in the story to show up at the wedding. I hope that, if I'm right, Asuka shows up in a relationship with someone. I still feel really bad for her character.
