Might be nice if you added a "upsell" option for Anime Plus members; somthing like +$2.00 over the straight anime membership. I have to imagine a Manga option would appeal to those who only watch the Anime's but don't want to shell out for premium.

I agree. That's why I'm going to wait before making a decision. This service is still new, so I'm hoping that they'll consider this option. I don't watch the drama, so I really don't feel like paying for it.

Am I missing something? Says I can't access because I'm currently a premium member and no matter what option I choose I just get taken back to the home page.

I don't think you really understand what I'm talking about. If you look at my screenshot I took here
I could not find an easy way to get back to the first chapter and then found out that the title did not go back that far.

As for payment, of course it's too much and we are paying for other things we do not want. For one thing CR did not specify which titles are free to look at and most are new release chapters meaning that looking at them would be pointless without upgrading (which I say again goes against what CR normally does) Not to mention that we would also be paying to use the Drama part of the site which I know for a fact I do no use. So why pay a membership plan for something I don't want?
Someone just came up with the good idea of a Manga & Anime only price plan, why can't we have that at least?
If we can get that kind of membership plan or modify the service so we can view the whole of a title for free then I will consider but so far I have not heard a good reason to pay more for Manga and Drama which I don't use to begin with

What I found to be helpful is to use the full screen mode on your browser (F11 for Firefox), then Zoom In and Out using "Control +" or "Control -", respectively. Doing this, I was able to achieve something close to the ideal full page/fit to screen or whatever. It also maintains the same zoom level when u go to another page. Here's an example of what I was able to get:

Notice it fits the entire page in, but doesn't quite fit the width of the screen, but it's pretty close, though. For some other mangas, I noticed this technique works even better as it's more filled out width-wise, while still having the entire page viewable, so all u have to do is click on the next page and not worry about doing any scrolling.

But what really concerns me is the fact this new service is asking us to pay for the 8.99 just to read them. I think being asked to pay All-access membership to read the manga's is unfair considering when I can still watch Drama on CR for free and don't need to upgrade my account. I'm concerned as Crunchyroll has always offered a choice for it users to pay if they wished, this has been ever since I joined the site (2006) and now with the manga it's more ''you pay or don't read''. Can their be a way to read the Manga's without spending for a membership plan we may not want?
I don't think it's unfair as u get access to the backlog of titles. Buying a physical copy of one of those volumes alone could cost u the same for a 1 month manga membership.
Also, those w/out a manga or All-Access accounts have access to the latest chapter of a series. Anything more than the latest chapter, and you'll need a manga/All-Access account.

I'M SO STOKED! Well, sorry [site that shall not be named], looks like I won't have to be coming your site any more.

Crunchyroll, you continue to amaze me.

Oh my mistake, I see what u mean now! I would suggest posting about it in this thread (where we are gathering feedback/suggestions, etc. for improvement about the Manga Reader): http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-826037/manga-reader-first-impressions-and-suggestions

In the U.S., a one month anime subscription costs $6.95 per month, and a 1 month manga subscription costs $4.95 per month. Add this together and it's $11.90. An All-Access membership is $11.95 a month, so u basically get Drama for free (or for 5 cents, technically). I'm not sure how much it is for the UK dollar/pound, but I would imagine that it's probably something similar to this.
Believe me, though, I would love to see some kind of a bundled Manga and Anime plan with some kind of a reduced price. However, sometimes there are no bundled plans, and u just have to pay the "regular" price (just like at any store/supermarket or whatever). In this case, at least in the U.S., getting an All-Access is like paying regular price for an Anime and Manga membership (with Drama as a free Bonus), or u can look at it like a buy 2 get the 3rd one free kind of thing.

However, there is actually a reduced plan if one subscribes for 3 months or for a year. But even so, I think if there's a Black Friday deal again, it'll probably blow the rest of these reduced plans out of the water. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they bring it back again this year. ^.^

Hitting "F" will get it to go full screen. Or u can use your browser's Zoom capabilities.

Why can't you download the chapters on Android like other comic reading services. Even Marvel Unlimited app which is subscription based lets you download (even if it is only 12 issues). Pages aren't loading as fast as I'm reading them and 2 pages don't work properly.

Has this already been posted? Because I stumbled across it but I haven't seen any mention of it yet.

EDIT:

I found the link here:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-826039/crunchyroll-begins-manga-service

This option doesn't automatically show up when your looking to get full access to the manga. CR would you clarify what your manga services are please?

2nd EDIT

I was confused. The 2nd link just takes you to the beginning of this thread. Please grant me a measure of your patience.

??? Um, you're posting in the Site News thread that announced this, and the opening post does say there's a manga membership for $4.95 and even links to that page. Can you be more specific about what you are asking?

My apologies, I'm a little tired. What I'm trying to understand is why this option isn't openly apparent when you're in the manga section and are looking to unlock all of the manga features?

I love the idea but being as there is only one manga I keep up with (Attack on Titan), for now I will read the simlupubs with ads. I would rather continue to just buy the volumes as they are released because ads aren't that big a deal to me. However, if there are more series in the future that I would read (or I can get a good deal ), I will upgrade.

Again, awesome that Crunchyroll has manga! I wish there were more legal sites that had this.

For only 12 mangas this should have just been included with anytime of membership until you get the numbers up. As one person pointed out, it isn't worth the price of admission since you'll probably only like one or two of the 12 and you can read them for free on other sites. I'm all for supporting the artist for their work, but you have to do better than that before you ask for more money.

Personally, I don't see a problem with them asking for more money. They are doing things legally, and thus, that's going to cost them a lot more money as opposed to the free (illegal) sites that are out there that don't support the artists/creators or whatever.

Most of the free sites are fan sites and don't make any money off of the mangas (just off of ads and donates) If it wasn't for these "illegal" sites most of us would never have heard of our favorite animes/mangas and there would be no CR. It isn't like CR is sharing a ton of its profits with the makers. Think about it, they get 1,000 people to sign up for a year, that's close to $60,000 with hardly any cost to CR and they still make money off the free members because of the ads. So yea I see a problem with them charge extra for a very limited library.
