Same issue here. The update in support of the most current iOS is conflicting with some of the earlier versions. I can no longer use the app on my iPad version 1.

I considered reverting to an earlier point, but I have some new games I don't wish to start over, so I will wait and use the browser on my iPad, instead, for now.

EDIT: Nix that idea - video won't display in the iPad Safari browser (it is demanding the use of the app). Perhaps the restriction should be removed until this is fixed? I am watching on my daughter's Kindle Fire, for now.

Sorry guys! This is an issue on iOS 5 that we didn't catch during testing. It'll be fixed in the next update. Promise. ><

Trying to view Crunchyroll on iPad via Safari appears to be a non-starter. Crunchyroll prompts to install app to view.

When you go to Crunchyroll.com, there should be an option that lets you skip to the website, unless they changed it - which would be silly because then you wouldn't be able to troll the forums on your iPad, like I am doing right now... if that is the case, they should fix that. At least on my iPad Safari browser, there is a GUI near the bottom that redirects past the interstitial page, begins with "No thanks..."

For now, if there is no redirect option, try typing in another CR URL, i.e. add to the end "/user/[username]" or "/forum" and it should bypass that forced navigation, altogether.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see what you're saying. You mean in the Shows: you can't play the videos in Safari on the iPad (but you can on a PC):

Just FYI, I know from experimenting with previous iOS devices that some apps (unsure of CR specifically since I never need to test it) don't work on jailbroken devices running later versions of iOS that are not supported by that specific device. I have and old iPhone 3G that I tried jailbreaking in order to use newer versions of apps that I had paid for in iTunes but it did not work out. Instead I restored the device to its highest supported OS and installed an older version of the apps (This American Life and TuneIn) from backups of my iTunes library.

If you are wondering which versions of iOS your device supports check this Wikipedia page.

The update was submitted to Apple for approval last week. Unfortunately, the average turnaround time for app approval is 7-10 days.

I've tried rebooting it normally, using a hard reboot (holding down home button and power button), and deleting and re installing, but nothing works

Again peeps, this is an iOS 5 issue. As long as you have iOS 5, it will happen.

On the bright side, 2.18 is being released today, which should fix all of your crashing problems.
