I laugh at how even FREE members get One Piece simulcasted, and paying members in Europe get nothing xDD

Sweet news, although I really hope we can get it to Europe especially Sweden. But With this + manga Crunchyroll is on a hot streak. I'm wondering what will come next.

Ah, based on "I don't know why its that way, so I'll just assume its because Crunchyroll is not fighting for them".

The UK actually tends to get the occasional Japanese drama simulcast that Crunchyroll gets, its the Korean dramas that are mostly US/Canada only. That's because those are the rights that the licensors of those K-dramas are willing to give Crunchyroll.

it's easy for you to blindly defend crunchyroll when your sitting on your throne isn't it? with everything Crunchyroll licences PLUS a million alternatives if for whatever reason you fall out for them.

Its not clear what you are saying here: are you predicting that once more publishers start releasing Manga, the UK will normally be left out?

Remember that the UK share would have been almost exactly what's normal for Fall except for two series that were taken by Wakanim.fr's new venture with AllTheAnime.com. And since the new Wakanim.com is focused more on downloads, AllTheAnime.com says they are willing to negotiate with streaming sites ... so if Crunchyroll and the new UK joint venture can strike a deal, that interference won't repeat itself.]

Lol only 2? Have you seen the UK's simulcasts this season? It's one of the worst i've seen we lost 6 due to competition not to mention the other ones we lost. but it's fine i can see Strike the Blood and Golden Time so i'm happy.

So Netflix UK, with 1m subscribers, doesn't get the same number of shows at Netflix US, with 29m subscribers?
I'm shocked that a site with 4% as many subscribers is not able to attract as many license deals.

Sometimes i wonder if Americans know any of the world apart from there own country... Do you realise how small the UK is even? Providing a million is correct which it is likely it isn't because they reported that a long while ago i'm sure it's got higher since 1m subscribers but even if it hasn't 1m is still 10% of the UK population! That is ALOT of people!

One of those "things involved" is market clout. Netflix's US subscriber base is 45% the size of the UK's entire population. Of course its going to have more content than Netflix UK.

Again easy for you to defend them when your sitting atop the thrown isn't it? How about you start being reasonable and realise i have a right to complain? I pay the same amount of money as you therefore if i'm not happy about something i'm going to make my opinion heard. (or try)

Funny thing is it would be different if the UK got a license the US didn't wouldn't it? Then you'd be the one expressing your opinion.

Seriously i already made my opinion on this matter apparent on the news article but i want to restate it here.

The US already has a million ways to watch this anime! And you can't even give us in the UK one way to watch this show? Great news for the US i guess well done guys one more place to watch the same show you can watch anywhere else but no joy for the UK sad sad day.

Crunchyroll you NEED to pick up the phone to STARS (who own MangaUK) and tell then to stop being idiots!

Bre bra bro brotha broham, just change your ip address fizzle. Change it to an american ip, that way you trick the systems to believing you're from the US dizzle

I would love to hear the inside version on how many virgins Crunchyroll had to sacrifice to Toei and Funi to get this to us...

As a fan of One Piece, anything that increases the range of people who will watch it is a bonus. If they start from Episode 1 even, that would be marvellous.

Well.. I still think it's funny, that you got another legal way to watch One Piece when you already had dozens and we had none. You can now surf through all those websites... Week by week.

There are two thing to that. First of all there is a new/old competitor who also entered bidding in UK. So you can still watch some simulcast even if not on Crunchy. Crunchy resources are limited, so instead of buying overpriced licences for UK, and spend a lot more money just to have the same number of licences, they decided to spend it on other places. Thanks to that other regions received more shows.

Second reason may be that, crunchy wanted to increase their Europe share there is a lot shows that were licences clearly for Pal or EU regions. Lately there is a lot of market expanding on crunchy, so i think that may be a case.

Sorry that decreased number of UK shows, but it's not like they are unavailable for you. I also hope that increase of continental europe members will offset decrease in UK members.

Hmmm. That means that UK have only 10mln people. Was there some sudden disaster i don't know of? Let's say that every 1 in 50 people are interested in anime. From 1 mln it makes it 20 000. Is that still that huge number?

Funny thing is it would be different if the UK got a license the US didn't wouldn't it? Then you'd be the one expressing your opinion.

I don't think of it will happens soon. Correct me if I wrong but there is no case where US didn't receive license and other region did.
But you right. I remember that in previous way people from UK said the same thing when people from other regions where complaining. Fortune is rolling around, isn't she?
