There is nothing that anyone can list that I would ignore on the basis of them not having fanservice.

Also, I would enjoy the HOTD anime much more without the "boob matrix" (and worse) going on, because of the wonderful carnage, zombies, and badassery of the combat. I'd certainly still enjoy Code Geass, too.

You're dealing with someone who unabashedly watches and enjoys clean cartoons and whatnot.

Boob matrix actually MAKES HotD!

Seriously that is EPICNESS of fanservice

Matrix Boobs! That phrase will forever be remembered and mentioned with HotD!

HotD = Matrix Boobs!

I don't think this is a good question.

Fan service is literally "service to the fans"

Anime made strictly for your fan's would count in this, and anything that's awesome the fan's want to see, being seen could be counted as fan service.

Be it a sexy chick in leather, a cameo from the directors previous work, a reference or parody of another work(Gundams in SrgntFrog), or anything form Kick starter. Fanservice is something they made for the fans.

You know what doesn' have Fan service in it? "The Room"

Unless you count it's creator as a fan...which you probably should.

To go with the thread however, Free!. That's a show that's fanservice for the hilarity of it, and lacks substance outside of it. That said, Fanservice is fine.
Hell, Trigger's Kill la Kill is like, 90% Fan Service, 10% visual gag's. Nothing on that screen happens that the fan's arnt' asking for.

HotD would probably be better without most of the fanservice. I often want to suggest that anime to people, but then remember how much fanservice there is and end up choosing not to...

Chu Bra is a bit weird to bring up too, considering how young the characters seem... and it's rather difficult to cover the topic of that anime without something that would still look like fanservice.

Not sure what would get my vote. 'Agent Aika' maybe?

There is a correlation between culture and tolerance of fan-service. Not going into specifics, but that should be taken into consideration.

Anyways, I think a Yuruyuri with switched gender-roles and no fan-service makes a very.. dry, Anime.

Rosario + Vampire actually works pretty damn well without the fanservice.... the anime just cut out the plot of the manga and replaced it with over-the-top fanservice. Most people are surprised when I tell them that the Rosario manga is actually pretty minimalistic with fanservice and actually has a decent plot and character development.

Although strictly sticking to the anime yes it wouldn't work without the fanservice but that's what Gonzo turned it into... sorry if the first bit seemed ranty, I despise what Gonzo did to Rosario.

This.
I honestly can't think of anything that would be haltered by a lack of fanservice.

Suggestive puns aside, the boob jingling panty shot breast grabbing nonsense feels as forced as Deus Ex Machina in shonen anime and have been done to the point that many shows are unwatchable for most demographics of viewers.. I'm sure many guys would find it horrid to watch an anime if 25% of those available feature a large number of male characters with non-comedic below-the-waist shots and suggestive scenes solely for the purpose of eye candy.

If the narrative uses the fanservice for a reason outside of garnering the attention of male viewers, then I suppose there's no issue.

Charger Girl Ju-den Chan exaggerates its service to extremes for comedic effects rather than as eye-candy and this is probably the best way to do it. Nobody watches South Park for gratuitous fan service, but it plays an element in the senseless vulgarity that the show makes use of.
Free! often uses it as a comedic device.
Kill la Kill also

Outside of the three, I can't think of any anime that wouldn't benefit from a lack of fan service.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei would have a wider demographic
School Days would be relevant in a conversation
High School of the Dead would be your ordinary zombie fair available in glorious anime form
Elfen Lied would be considered "top-tier anime horror" thanks to its use of suspense and invoking danger.
Bakemonogatari would shine brilliantly and be touted for its unique use of colors and style (a lot of the characters are also swimming in personality.)
To Aru Majutsu no Index II would focus more on the plot than Touma's "unfortunate" fanservice encounters with the entire female cast.
Accel World may have garnered more popularity and been dubbed for overseas TV prior to Sword Art Online if the main character didn't have to have gratuitous fan service scenes with every female character regardless of age or association.
Puni Puni Poemy wouldn't have been banned in New Zealand and may have been relevant thanks to Excel Saga
umm.. etc.

Basically what is an anime that if the fanservice was completely removed would no one ever bother watching (excluding hentai titles please...that would be too easy)

My nomination for this would be:

High School of the Dead (aka Fanservice of the dead)

Let's see what everyone else has got for this!

Removing the fanservice from HOTD would actually make it a lot better IMO.
Pure gorevival anime > that fanservice-y MESS.

I don't know, but there's a lot of series that I would like better if it was cut back a bit. A little bit goes a long way for me. A few panty shots here and there and the odd bath scene as well as flattering camera angles are way cool with me. But anything way more gratuitous than that I find sort of annoying and it can distract me from a series' plot.
