I don't mind light novels, video games, manga, and etc turned into an anime series though it be nicer if there was JUST AN ANIME SERIES!!!!

Sorry. I just want more of those in the near future.

it would be nice, but really, it comes down to how much risk a company is willing to take with an original idea. it's somewhat easier to animate something that already has a following and a name than it is to make something completely new. Hollywood is the same way. the video game industry is the same way. western TV is similar (with new shows, but everything written pretty much rips off something else and changes it slightly).

belive it or not the only anime that was based solely on a original idea and not a manga, light novel, or game this year was Free

Free was based off of a light novel.

AKB0048 Next Stage was a sequel, but not based off of anything... for the most part.
Gatchaman: Crowds was an original series
Galilei Donna is an original series
Kill la Kill is an original series
Samurai Flamenco is an original series
Straight Title: Robot Anime was an original series
Valvrave was an anime first, and apparently spawned several manga and a light novel...... how?

the light novel and the anime pretty much came out at the sametime both by Kyoto Animation the anime was out July 4 the light novel July 8th

the novel was written before then, though. like Kyoukai no Kanata, they both won "honorable mention" in the KyoAni award contest in 2011. High Speed was just never published as novels until this year.

I still have trouble following the boxes when I read manga. I know it's right-to-left and the manga steps you through how to read through the progression, but i find myself re-reading the same page 2-3 times because I'm like WTF did I just read???

The 'problem' with anime straight from scratch is that the manga has a huge leg up. It's already got an audience. and it's already been storyboarded.

I think the original '98 evangelion was a strict idea to anime though. So I believe was Noir. of course these are all so five minutes ago to you young whipper snappers. You'd be shocked that I consider such shows along with BGC 2040 and Cowboy Bebop to be new.

I like Naruto in black and white. This brings the feeling of being a ninja--hidden in the shadows; even though, these ninjas are getting overpowered as the chapter goes on.

MADLAX was good. I still have to finish Cazador de la Bruja... didn't find it quite as good as MADLAX or Noir, though.

I liked Berserk as a Manga.

I mean, the Anime was awesome, and having the english voices in my head helped me get through it.

The anime even ended in a way that said "Go watch episode 1 again......THEN read the manga...trololololol"

Berserk been around for like 20 years and I don't think it's going to end until the guy writeing it dies

From what I hear, the reason we don't get episodes very often is because he has to make sure every page is 100% Over-complicated, AND he only draws in his free time. He spends work time playing Idolmaster.......or was it all his freetime was Idolmaster.....

Doesn't matter. I just know that Berserk is ripe for a time skip, and checking for updates is more useless than asking for a second season of Accel World.

I actually own a physical copy of Berserks latest chapter in japanese, AND I GOT IT NEARLY A YEAR AGO, WHAT THE HELL MAN!

oh, and GTO's mangais rather nice, i own all of the "14 days in Shonan" set, and the Humor is no different. Hell, the GTO Anime, Movies, Dub, and Manga all share the same humor. It's creepy, how is Onizuka so likable?
