You call that a Tragedy? Ain't nothing in that anime was tragic! The only way that show could have been more positive is if they gave Renji a Transformer for how damn manly he was, have that robot car sex.

And I like to use the literal description for Tragedy, that being "A good guy turning evil" Ah-Lah Macbeth.

Which reminds me!

Western style Tragedy: Berserk
Japanese style Drama: Katanagatari

I like swords ok?

I completed Ef - a tale of Memories/Melodies just recently, and I was surprised how not-tragic things turned out. The story was good and and yada yada yada.

But seriously, Renji had berries of titanium.

That said, I'm the dork who always thinks things turn out positive. When we read "The Giver" back in grade school I thought everybody was stupid for thinking the kid died in the end, and went crazy. No, he was drinking hot chocolate in an awesome house on Christmas morning, THAT'S HOW IT ENDED.

All "it could be happy or sad" endings are auto Happy to me. I don't just think "I want it to end happy." someone has to point out that it could also be a sad ending, like he's crazy or delusional. Every, friggin, time.

Sword of the Stranger?

That ended positively, what're you talking about?

Also, Sword of the Stranger is my Anime Movie Action recommendation, along with Ninja Scroll.

Yeah, Ninja Scroll is the shiz. Stallone Vs Samurai.

For an underrated series I would have to go with Neo Ranga.

If you love Galilei Donna it uses a similar 3 sister theme that a lot of other popular series such as Ranma 1/2 used and rarely fails. Well... besides in Full House.

I did not. I saw Yuu the same way I see Rocky's girlfriend Adrian back in Memories.

"you can't do it Rocky, you can't do it. Don't fight rocky, just give up, why you always gotta fight Rocky?"

Seriously, Yuu was just there to tell everybody to give up, I hate that kinda stuff.

When Melodies came around....it was pretty much the same. Dude totes gave up in my mind, and Yuuko was cookie cutter female heroine. That's why they had the side/sequel set! They wern't the first or main group, naaah, Melodies was the anime version of "NOW LETS SEE HOW TEAM LOSER IS DOING!" that was always on that Cartoon racing show on Boomerang, a channel I rarely watched.

My impressions arn't too good, but the type chat makes it impossible to decipher.

But yeah, Yuu/Yuuko were as generic as their names. Persona 4's Anime adaptation called their protagonist Yu. I thought that was hilarious Meta-humor. cuz lol you is the hero. Even if it wasn't, that joke was funny to me.

Might as well add it in, a good Sports anime would be Hajime no Ippo! or Fighting Spirit! in the english dub. Seriously, forget your football and tennis, BOXING IS A REAL MANS SPORT.
