Hi,

I moved your post over to site support, since that seemed like a more appropriate place for it. Hope you don't mind! I'm not sure what the answer to your question is, but hopefully another engineer or support staff will be able to say for sure.

I know that they've been working on the player, but I still find it annoying that clicking the next button while in fullscreen doesn't just load the next video in that player.... I hate having to click the fullscreen button every frickin' time. It's a design flaw/oversight that should have been taken into consideration before launch.

What browser are you using?

If it is Chrome, can you make sure you have the most up to date version and let me know if that resolves the issue?

Chrome is up to date. What happens is I click the next episode button and the fullscreen flash player goes away and chrome loads a new window with the next episode... and then I have to click the fullscreen button again.

I will say that I seem to be unable to update flash. No matter what I do, flash update setup says that it is still running and cannot install the update.

Edit: Figured out that Snag-It was keeping flash alive. Updated flash, and disabled chrome's built-in flash player, but still the same thing.

And even worse playback problems... I've gone from 1080 rez without problems... to dropping down to 720.... and now i had to drop down to 480... and now I am having problems playing at that!

I have. With no luck. I know it has something to do with my computer and not my modem or ISP, since neither my iphone or appletv have any trouble. I am up to date with flash. I've changed my DNS settings to use opendns. Oh well. I will keep emailing support back and maybe, someday, something will work.

Ahhhh! Well... the only thing I can suggest is to try running through your Add Ons one at a time and toggling them off to see if it improves playback.

Otherwise we are working on improvements to the way we stream as well as adaptive streaming which should help resolve some of the issues you're encountering. We're hoping these to be in place by the end of Q1 2014.

If by adaptive streaming you mean it drops to lower quality like on Amazon Prime, Netflix and some TV network sites then please have an option to disable this. It's very annoying on those other services. Just because of some short spike in CPU usage of a background app or a hiccup in WiFi, the server detects TCP packets being dropped or not acknowledged so it severly lowers the quality for a prolonged amount of time. So long, in fact, I have always just refreshed the browser page to get back the HD quality.

I want to second what mocus has said. I'll drop my subscription instantly if adaptive streaming is implemented without an option to disable it.

Not adaptive selection of resolution. Adaptive in that if it senses you're not getting optimal service on Akamai (for example) it'll automatically switch you to a different CDN.

That's great to hear. Automatic quality selection is just as annoying as stuttering video playback. Looking forward to the improved player.

Concur!
iOS does it... (And we have super secret menu options to turn it off.)
