I think CR needs to up their game. or they will start loosing customers. buy the licence from the current licence holders.

What do you think they're working towards? CR wants to show the previous eps. It would be really good for business to show the previous eps. They're not being coy about this, trying to tease people - especially since right now the older eps are available elsewhere, meaning other companies are getting ad revenue for those eps. As soon as CR can legally show the prior episodes, they will!

But other companies have other desires, and that can delay CR's attempts to get those eps, unfortunately..

Hm.. not sure, to be honest. The places I know you can currently legally watch the older OP eps are Hulu and Funimation.

The problem with Hulu, is all of the ads and people outside of the US either can't watch it or can, but ALWAYS with ads!

There has been a solution to the ads since early September:

I was pretty excited to see this heading as I logged into my Crunchyroll account, but yet again it's not available in my region. I'm starting to feel that countries outside of the U.S aren't getting equal treatment.

Welcome to the traditional false advertising of available series for international series. They should filter their own ads by the IPs of the users or at least the country specified in the profile.

Neither of those are available in the UK

edit: Funimation is launching in the UK in February , but we might not get access to One Piece if Toei has the UK streaming rights rather than Funimation .

I'm pretty sure from what's I've looked up it's down to bidding. Correct me if I'm wrong?

Which means the European market is simply 'not worth it' to CR. IF it were, they would bid more.

Trust me One Piece manga is extreamly popular here in Finland.

If they can't pay to keep the service working on Saturday nights, then how are they going to bid higher for shows?

It makes no sense to bid more than you'll get back in value. For example, I expect even Toei Europe would give CR the streaming rights to One Piece if they bid more than Toei could expect to make from broadcast rights and home video rights for the entire region, but CR would be losing money hand over fist.

The small flickering light was that they did allow Dragon Ball Super to be licensed by CR for 35 out of 51 countries in Europe, and covered more via Daisuki (which they have an investment in), which is more than the total cold shoulder we've seen in the past.
