Headsets: for when you absolutely have to call someone a faggot.

I use Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250ohm.

^ This. My ears must be shaped weird or something. They never stay in. Also the sound quality is absolute crap.

My headphones are Monster Inspiration, the ones with noise cancellation. I love them. I'm not a huge audiophile by any means, but I like them. They were under $300 USD when I bought them. This is what I use for mostly music and audiobooks. I'll hook them up once in a while for games, but I actually haven't watched much anime with them. I should get on that, but I'm sure they're really good for anime as well.
The Inspiration sounds really damn good, I think. They can be a little heavy, though. However, they are still comfortable for over the ear headphones.. My headphones/sets have to be over the ear. Can't stand on the ear.

My headset is the SteelSeries SIberia v2 which I use for Skype calls and other voice chatting over games with. These are pretty dang light, sound great and the cushions are really comfortable for extended amounts of time ( my friend falls asleep in them constantly ) I bought them for $60 USD. Definitely worth the buy for general audio.

Overall, I prefer headphones.

I use some $20 Skullcandy ear buds from GameStop and they're okay. Can't really stand earbuds, but I needed a pair for work. I hear Koss makes some decent earbuds that offer noise cancellation. No idea on pricing. Bose too, I think.

I've also had a pair of Marshall headphones, which sounded great for a lot of talking audio. But they hurt my ears too much and I had to return them. They sound was fairly unique as they are a company that makes guitar amps. So they weren't incredibly bass-y. They're pretty good if you don't want a lot of bass, and want to listen to music that's heavy on guitar or audiobooks/pod casts. These were about $80 or more.

Also use to use the PS3 wireless stereohead set. I think Wireless headsets are amazing. So practical. I do miss being wireless. However, when using on the PC, the audio cut out often and would make odd sounds. Don't think it really happened when using the PS3, though. Not sure if this was caused by the wireless functionality or something was wrong on my end. These were $90 to $100.

It seems an odd question, as doesn't 'headset' just mean the inclusion of a microphone?

Anyway, I use either a pair of Sony XBA-30 (IEMs) or Sony MDR-1R (headphones) and sometimes a pair of Superlux 668B. All are rather neutral sounding.

The XBAs are great value for money and are available from -10 to -40 so should fit most budgets.

I use a Razer Tiamat 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset. I love it more than the turtle beaches they put out there. But know if you don't have a 7.1 Sound Card, you won't get to experience the true audio.

JVC Gummies cheap but last just as long as more expensive ones. The sound is not the best but good for the price.
