Well, I listen to kpop. I usually listen to it moderately because I'm losing my hearing due to the fact that I did blare my music (so, yeah. BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR EARS).I don't mention it very much with my non-kpop fan friends, but with my kpop fan friends I usually let them listen along with me.

Heck no all my familia knows i be diggin kpop and jpop /jrock,french ,chinese, british etc. i play my music whenever and wherever i feel like it . My Friends also know i like it and they do to .
but in the beginning when i first did hear it out loud at home my siblings would be hatin but i got some of them into it cus they like some rappers i showed them or some collaborate with English ones that they already heard. so they dont bug me much in fact they like it .
Sometimes i catch them playing it . my older bro was the one that from time to time commented negatively but once he visited the Philippines and lived their for a while he came back listening asian music to hahaha.

I watch anime on my phone all the time, and I generally hide it from people. Most people think its taboo, and of course in some anime they tend to try and make it sexual for no reason. I was riding on a bus while watching a romantic anme and some lady peeked over my shoulder and some thought it was porn...

I don't get why so many people treat anime, manga, and a general appreciation for Japanese pop-culture as if it's a disease you need to keep covered so it doesn't freak people out. I don't hide any of it, even my yaoi/yuri, my hobbies are nothing to keep hidden and I'm irritated that so many people feel they should be ashamed of liking something I love.

I used to listen to a lot of anime music back when I played Stepmania and the anime packs were floating around. My family is definitely not accustomed to eastern culture, and my city's schools and students were always very close-minded and judgmental. I was definitely hiding a lot of my music unfortunately. It kinda sucked, as listening to a lot of the songs really made me feel happy and cheery. But to an outsider looking in I was just another weird otaku who liked really weird stuff.

I haven't been listening to much of the same music as I was before, but I think if I were to start throwing on some anime tracks into my playlist and such I would still hide it from most people. It's much easier to just let it be one of those things people who get to know me eventually find out. I can't stand dealing with people who are quick to judge because they hear a happy-go-lucky anime track and perceive it as strange weeaboo music.

Personally I don't care what the hell anyone thinks of my music, and people respect me enough to not care

and whenever I want to listen to anime music, I'll listen to it publicy as long as it doesn't disturb anyone who's studying or something; feel free to express yourself whenever you're comfortable with it br0

I agree, but please people, don't go blasting the neighborhood. It's not the music (most of the time), it's the volume. Some of us keep irregular hours (like graveyard shift) and sleep in the day....some are sick and need peace to rest......some have sensory or medical conditions that loud sounds (bass) make worse, and lastly there are babies and young children who nap or sleep early. I'm also pretty sure that parents don't appreciate the sound of the "F" word (those of you who listen to that type of music) and the like blasting within their kid's earshot.

No, and where I live, if you listen to anything that's not on the radio, does not have lyrics, and/or not in English, you'll probably receive the following:

- Daily beatings
- Weird, angry, or snooty looks
- Waves of ridicule and laughter
- A really bad social life

. . .

*sigh* It'll be better appreciated in about 10 years.

I don't see the reason to hide it. I enjoy it. I'm not going to flaunt it around in other people's faces or force others to adhere to what I enjoy. However, I will not hide what I enjoy either. To each their own.
