For those who might not know what a "prepper" is:

- Survivalism
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivalism

Survivalism is a movement of individuals or groups (called survivalists or preppers) who are actively preparing for emergencies, including possible disruptions in social or political order, on scales from local to international. Survivalists often acquire emergency medical and self-defense training, stockpile food and water, prepare to become self-sufficient, and build structures (e.g., a survival retreat or an underground shelter) that may help them survive a catastrophe.

Sorry, but every time I see this thread, this earworm goes through my head:

I'm a prepper,
you're a prepper,
he's a prepper,
she's a prepper,
wouldn't you like to be a prepper, too?

Maybe now it can be purged from my brain...

Yes. You never know when something could go down; and let's be real for a second, here. Having prepared for it or not you could still die
Lol.

Ridiculous nickname, but nope I am not quite one yet. I have thought of planning ahead, to make myself prepared in case of a possible disaster, but I do not have the funds to stock up on food water, extra money to make it possible as of now. =T

I think everyone should plan and prepare for the future since we never know what the future brings.

I am prepared for a possible hurricane when the season comes around. But that's it. Anything doomsday-like I just can't be bothered with.

I live in the UK, if theres a 'disaster' bad enough a jumper and some tins of soup cant get me through then I probably died instantly so dont care. Obviously having emergancy survival plans and equipment is totally legitimate, and generally a good idea, in a country who suffers from Earthquakes, huricanes, tsunamis, common floods etc. The dooms day nutters are just that though

I watch that show "Doomsday Prepper", but never actually think of myself as one, just not that obsessive enough.

I am not but I should really have an emergency backup supply of stuff just in case. I never think about buying stuff like that when I have money. I'll live to regret it one day...

The people they have on that show dooms day preppers are ridiculous. :/ I mean its good to have a survival plan and some food saved up but not for the end of the world. It's like those people who made bunkers in their basements during the coldwar.
