Hello.

I'm new to crunchyroll and I just downloaded the android app. However every time I open it, it shows the same error message: "There was a problem starting the app. Please try again, or contact support if the problem persists.".

Looking further into it, it seems this error message only comes up when I'm on a WiFi connection. When I start up the app on 3G it works without issues, but of course, as I'm not a premium member this doesn't help me much as i can't watch anything over 3G.

My phone is a Nexus 4 running Android 4.3.

I'm thinking this could be some sort of IP related issue, but that's just me guessing. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Does that do anything?

Okay, here's what I've tried so far:

Cleared data and cache.... Same error.

Uninstalled and reinstalled.... Same error.

Tried different WiFi connections.... Nothing.

Still only works when I'm on 3G. Could it be IP related?

Same problem over here with a Samsumg Galaxy Tab 10.1 with WiFi.

Just this second started to happen to me too. Tried the mobile site aswell but thats failing to work too. I reckon this is probably a thing on Crunchy's side.
