If there is a sale (as there might not be), I would expect it to be raised to around 70 bucks or so if it is an All-Access plan (since Manga is now included).

But there could be a special anime/manga bundle deal instead (especially with all the requests there's been), or in addition to a special All-Access plan. In any case, we'll have to wait and see.

If the price is raised a little, I'd be OK with that, but considering how the membership sale is only offered during Black Friday/Cyber Monday and it's been offered for a few years now, I'm hoping it's still a bargain. We shall see how it goes, but you'd think Crunchy would've made some kind of announcement if prices were to go up for an all-access membership. What is going to kill me is the waiting since Thanksgiving is late this year so the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend will go into December. I always wait until the last day to "bite" on a membership.

I've gone through $300 on clothes during a Black Friday sale and later regretted it.

Can anyone enlighten me on Black Friday?

Is it a scam? Or does it come with great savings? When I think of Black Friday, I think of massive sales and it's the time you should spend most of your money at one time, or am I just bandwagon-ing on what other people say? Because I've save money to buy a new laptop and some pair of jeans and a few jackets for the winter.

I worked in retail for a number of years, so here's the basics!

Throughout most of the year, retailers work "in the red" or they don't make a profit. "Black Friday" can be absolutely INSANE in the shopping malls because a lot of people go looking for deals. For example, TVs that cost $1,000 will be only $300 or some other ridiculously low price to bring people into the store (of course they'll only have like 5 of those TVs per store. The idea is when the stores don't have the item you want, you'll hopefully buy that "other TV that is only $500" instead). The idea is on "Black Friday" stores finally make a profit. Try WORKING in retail on that day--it's absolutely insane. One year parking was so bad, I had to have a RELATIVE drop me off so I could GET TO WORK. The phrase "being in the black" means you make a profit or get out of bankruptcy. Most likely, the term "Black Friday" came from that phrase. Stores also tend to open super early like 4 or 5 in the morning to get the bargain hunters. Some stores like Sears and K-Mart are actually going to open THANKSGIVING DAY to try to get shoppers even earlier. So for all the shoppers out there, give the poor retail workers a break cause it's no fun. I haven't worked retail in years and I certainly don't miss the "fun" of the Christmas season (like the store being open until 2 in the morning in the week or two before Christmas. Getting HOME at 3 in the morning just sucked!). I just avoid the shopping malls altogether thanks to learning the hard way.

"Cyber Monday" if you hear that phrase, refers to the busiest ONLINE SHOPPING day. It falls the Monday after Thanksgiving. The idea is, people go back to work after the long holiday (except if you're in retail) and hit the internet to search for deals.

I'm not sure where the whole thing originated, but the simplest way of looking at it is "Black Friday" is the beginning of the madness known as Christmas shopping. If you love getting up early for bargains, like my dad ( ), I applaud you, but I'd rather sleep!

And, by the way, for things like a laptop, I've seen better deals for Back to School sales. But items will vary on when you can find the best deal.

Hopefully this helps a little.

Luckily I don't really have anything I want right now (other than food) so I'm staying home, playing games and watching anime.
