I hope this is the right place to put this since I guess it would be more of a suggestion rather than a question...

Is there plans for CR to have or support a Windows App? I recently got the Microsoft Surface 2, which uses only the Microsoft store or whatever it is called. I was hoping I would be able to use it to watch Anime and read Manga from CR but it appears there is no App yet in the store... or is this going to be one of those restrictions you guys can not get around??

Doesn't IE on the Surface 2 include Flash support, as the Surface RT did? If so, you should be able to use that for both viewing video and manga. (As I understand, the latter also uses a Flash app for browser access).

Hmm I will have to check, I have not actually gone to Crunchyroll's website on the Tablet yet... I was just hoping there would be/in the works of an app similar to the Android (which I have on my phone).

If that is what you mean at least. As to actually answering the question. I do believe it supports Flash, though I have not done much on it yet other than put a Manga app on it read a couple chapters.

It might be in CR's interest to wait on doing any Windows 8 app until the app stores (phone/tablet/PC) are consolidated next year.

Keep in mind any development of that type would likely divert any resources CR would use on other PC-centric programming tasks, such as developing a new Flash player (which as I recall, was mentioned as being in the works).

When you consider this also relates to a device that one can already view CR on via the web browser (and can log in, unlike the third party Flingo app on some devices), it gives good reason to put such a development low on the "to do" list.

In contrast, on Android, Adobe was dropping support for Flash on mobile devices, so if CR hadn't developed that app they would have been MIA on newer Android devices.

Ahh I see... yes I would much rather see a new player or updated/upgraded player on the PC, since I use that 90% more. I did go to the CR site on the Tablet. The video played perfectly (although the sound quality was a bit meh... but that is a given I think given the Tablets specs, probably would be better if I used a headset) but the Manga stayed as a blank page on multiple Simulpubs. I don't have an All-Access though so I don't know if that would be why? On the PC it usually kicks me to a screen saying to upgrade my account if thats the case though.

I don't know if the Flash implementation on the ARM based Surface tablets is a full implementation. If it is primarily meant to support video, the CR manga app could be utilizing features it lacks.

A Windows 8 app would be nice because I'm planning on buying one of those 8" Windows 8 tablets sometime in the next few months. Although, if the new Flash player provides better touch support in addition to being better for desktops then a Windows 8 app probably won't be neccessary. Then again, I'd rather not use Flash and it's going to take a while (years?) for another, hopefully better, web standard to replace it.

Well I now have Windows 8.1 so a Windows App would be nice.

If/when you create a Windows 8 app, please add swipe gestures to fast forward and rewind the video. It's a pain to use the progress bar especially for short jumps when I miss something and need to go back a little bit. I'd also like to have the ability to tap the screen to pause/play the video. It seems that the Android and iOS apps are also missing these features so I think they should be added to existing apps as well.

So does CR work in IE11 on Surface 2? This will determine if I buy that device or not.

I'd definitely would like the touch gestures to make it into their apps. I have an iPad now and it's difficult to move around the video accurately using the progress bar.

A Windows app would be nice to use on my notebook too. That is, if it doesn't suck up development resources from other popular platforms.

Please develop a Windows App!

Hulu Plus is awesome and streams perfectly on my Surface 2. I would like to have the same capability on Crunchyroll. Running video in the web browser is less than optimal. Anyway, love the Crunchyroll service and would like to see it become user friendly on Windows via an App,

Is this being worked on? I plan on getting an ASUS Vivotab Note 8 in Spring. A touch friendly Windows 8 app with swipe gestures would be great. Thanks!
