Just as the title and description say. So something like Kill la Kill would be an example. It has a cool art style that I have not come across before.

Monogatari Series by SHAFT

Closest we've gotten to another studio doing the same techniques for a show would be Dusk Maiden of Amnesia by Silver Link but only because the director of that show used to work for Shinbo.

Outside of the recent Kill la Kill I would have to say:

I just freaking love the visual design and animation used in the Monogatari animes. The use of flat tones. The unconventional bizarre close up alternating with long focus is so dynamic.

I also really enjoyed Little Witch Academia. It had a throwback feel to the old disney (pre cgi) animation style.

I'd definitely go with Aku no Hana. Name any other anime that used rotoscoping.

The current season does have a lot of unique and beautiful styles, though. Nagi no Asukara. Kyousougiga. Kill la Kill. All very different and wonderful to watch.

I think aside from what everyone else has posted, what I can recall I think the most unique animation I've seen was the anime film Dead Leaves. Think of the intermission cards from Gurren Lagann with the flat-color, sharp shades, and irregular designs and compose an entire motion picture of just that. It was pretty damn awesome.

Some examples:

The Tatami Galaxy... (In my opinion, this one by Madhouse makes Kill la Kill like ordinary... xD No offense...)
Arakawa Under The Bridge/Bakemonogatari (Same studios- same animation style in a way)
Aku no Hana

Shaft is the wild abstract studio. They bring crazy art, unique angles, and the most impressive openings. All of the series they make are like this, but they are each unique.

Studio I.G. is known for it's high-quality animation. Be it back in the days of FLCL and it's Gainax team up, the stunning visuals combined with Gainax's directing talent really shone.

Since we're on Gainax, they're famous for the crazy active animation. Studio Trigger, being a splinter, shares the same style. They move quickly and tend to adopt art styles that allow them to go off model. Nothing gets in the way of the action, NOTHING.

Stuido Madhouse is high-quality, and VERY manga-friendly. They tend to keep with original Manga styles and use bright colors and tons of animation. They don't have much original content, but they animate with the best of them. I'll say if the manga of Bleach and Naruto was done by them, those two shows would be held in much higher regard.

I'm gonna be honest when I say "anything designed by CLAMP is beautiful".

I would have to say Sakurasou no pet na kanojo wins it for me.

The animation style is superb, the colours are vibrant and beautiful, and not thrown at you just to be flashy. Everything about it moves the anime along subtly, and in a flowing manner. Not only that, but the colours display the emotions and thoughts of the characters, making it easier to emphasise with one character rather than the other, and genuinely makes the entire thing sadder. Here's an example.

Gainax's other anime aren't like that... weird.

For me it'll have to be Kaiba.

Unique?

Soul Eater, Gatchaman Crowds and Kyousougiga all come to mind quickly.
