I still wish I hadn't watched the End of Evangelion.

It was great, but I shouldn't have watched it.

Serial Experiments Lain was something I though I'd pick up on, but lol after reading this should I? xD

Absolutely! It's something you have to watch through multiple times to even slightly get a grasp on what is happening though, it's one of those shows. I have only watched it twice through, but the imagery used is so dark and twisted that it's crazy. Everything is a metaphor and you never know if what you are watching is reality or not; it really messes with your head. You will see what I mean if/when you watch it. It's the type of show that could be talked about in a thesis/dissertation. It's an animated masterpiece that unfortunately is not talked about as much anymore (although it came out in the late 90's so I suppose it's to be expected).

I'm done ranting now

I misread this and thought you said Kyōkai no Kanata. I was like "Huh....interesting choice."

It felt like FLCL was raping my mind, but I enjoyed it.

for some reason I felt weird when Tenshi no Tamago (Angel's egg) finished. Serial Experiments Lain too... fuck that anime cuts deep... all the abstract stuff that you observe trying to figure out how to explain it before thinking it's probs better if you don't. but yeah. I haven't seen enough anime like this.

Mostly things that has something to do with Gen Urobuchi.

A VN written by Urobuchi called 'Saya o Uta' is hands down the most disturbing (in a good way) story i've ever read/watched.

I was gonna say Lain myself. I just got done re-watching the show, and I still don't fully understand everything, and I've probably watched it about a half dozen times at least. I would definitely recommend it.

A shame the anime was so butchered and we never got all the manga in North America. It comes together fairly well at the end.

Akira the movie is so ambiguous it's hard to decipher what happened at the end. Eva isn't as deep as people seem to think, and pretty much all the Christian symbolism is there to look cool.

It's takes awhile to see, but FLCL is fairly straightforward with it's themes. Like Eva before it, a lot of it is just animators and writers having a blast making something.

Monster is the best one that i can think of for what was asked for.

Psycho Pass makes you think about society and what should be accepted in a society. Additionally, it makes you debate the ethics of labeling people criminals before they have committed a crime.

Ah I need to watch this someday..having some trouble finding the subs.

Anyways, for me, probably School Days, Paranoia Agent, Aoi Bungaku Series, and maybe Skull Man.

Most of the fansubs were likely pulled back when it was licensed, and I doubt any groups went back to it, and there probably aren't that many copies out on the market; I know I'm not planning to sell my set.

Psycho-Pass. There is middle episode that literally has you and the main female lead going bat shit crazy together because HOW well its done to make you feel the same things as her. Your going "THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING."

Oh me oh my...kids these days.

If you consider yourself an anime fan and don't at least know what Akira is, then please educate yourself quickly. You don't have to like it, just...do one of your dandy little Wikipedia searches that you folks have on the blink in this day and age.
