And leave North Korea alone. There is no such thing as an innocent person. Every major governmental function requires numerous people cooperating. Do you think one madman can heard 80 men together? No. If any one person in that chain says "no" then the event does not take place.

Well, I tend to think if any one person in that chain says "no" then that guy will be the next target for the firing squad.

@benson Fear will make people do things they never thought they were capable of. Leave them alone? Doubtful. They will be picked at like a scab until it causes an infection and WW3 pops off. America likes to use events like this to wiggle their way into another countries issues. Let enough outrage be heard, guarantee they go to the United Nations and try to have something done about it.

@paradox I agree. Anyone who does not comply will be shot and there wouldn't be a second thought about it.

You completely missed the point.

Have you ever Traveled?

As an American who likes my banned books and porn and ability to gather without a permit, I could never live in Singapore. Pornography is illegal there, littering is illegal, there is a long banned books list, and drugs are VERY illegal. Getting caught for minor offenses results in a public beating. "Soft" drugs are an automatic 20 years. Possessing hard drugs is punishable by death. There is no 20-year death row or waiting 2 years before a case goes to trial; legal matters are settled in a matter of days or weeks.

But their system works for them. In Singapore, I felt completely safe. It is a beautiful city. It is very clean and very modern. They have the best train system I have seen anywhere in the world and their technology is 5-10 years ahead of ours at least (We have the knowledge, but do not implement it for economic reasons). While I was there, I had pretty young women approach me in the train station with NO FEAR at all (that would NEVER happen in NY or LA) because they lived in a very safe country. It is basically a police state by my American standards, but the system works well and is enjoyed by the people who live there. I have no right to force my views on them.

Likewise, North Korea has standards that are different than mine. That does not give me the right to change North Korea. What they have works for them. If what they have stops working for them, it is THEIR responsibility to change it. If the people of North Korea want to change North Korea, they have that power. If the farmers stop farming, the politicians starve. They might not meet our standards, but they don't have to. The only people who have ANY right to tell North Koreans how to live is North Koreans. That is the point I was trying to make.

And besides, 90% of what we hear on the "news" is complete bullshit. I have been to a lot of the places that the "news" talks about (I spent 6 years in the US Navy). Most places are not what the "news" makes them out to be. "News" stations make money by selling advertisements and they sell more advertisements when the story is really attention-grabbing. It doesn't have to be (and usually isn't) true.

Actually you are the one who missed my point. Do you honestly believe your own statement that if any one person in the chain says "no" then the event would not take place? My point is if you really believe that then you need to come back to reality.

And we do have the right to speak out against human oppression whether it occurs here in America or elsewhere in the world. And yes, I have traveled- to Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, China, Taiwan, Canada, Mexico and parts of Europe. Speaking out against oppression in North Korea does not mean I support US military involvement- those are two completely different issues.

Also, I don't know which part of America you live in but littering and drugs(select) are also illegal here, the last time I checked.

Man, that's fucked up. Who would want to watch Desperate Housewives?

But on a note that is less likely to send me to hell, this is really no big news. I mean, were any of us under the impression that North Korea was only killing people that did bad things? Of course not. We just shut it out of our minds, because we don't like the way it makes us feel. Shit like this has been going on for DECADES, nothing has changed, NK is still an ignorant and backwards-ass shithole of oppression and mind-rape.

Until the North Korean people rise up against this shit or an outside country (not necessarily the US, but I think they are the most likely candidate) steps up and says "Enough", nothing will happen.

Sounds like U.S.A.. This is why I think we should invade U.S.A.. They need democracy over there, badly.

No, but really. How am I supposed to respond to anything North Korea does when nothing ever escapes North Korea? How did you even find these news?

Sounds like U.S.A.? sorry friend but that is not how U.S.A. operates. and invading a country makes it sound more like you side with NK. And what makes you think, you a single person knows best for an entire country? You sounds like Dictator.

Yeah, the moment you showed a Yahoo news link you pretty much lost all of your credibility since we all pretty much know Yahoo is another biased propaganda machine like Fox news which doesn't always show 100% of the truth.

The author in this news thing always gets subjective and adds his opinion in the story, this is your way to know if its biased bullshit.

Anyway for someone with a functional brain, it's pretty easy to know how to respond to this shit, plain simple, ignore it.

Listen, do you think this shit only happens in NK? That it never happens in countries like Saudi Arabia or China? Fuck yes it does happen, for example in Saudi Arabia, the rich always stomps on the poor with their oil money, this is why you get towers that cost millions of $ to make, and right beside them, very poor neighborhoods.

The rich people there and the government don't give a shit about the people even if they starve to death, meanwhile they are enjoying their million $ golf fields and their huge towers. So why do we condemn NK and not Saudi Arabia for this shit? Plain simple, the US. Since Saudi Arabia is an important ally of the US which provides it a lot of oil, the US will in no way give them a big bad image, even if they kill half of the citizens there. All the corporates assholes really work well together to brainwash the media as well. The best thing to do is not give a shit because you can't do anything that matters to change it anyway.

In other words, no, don't fucking bother with, just live your blissful life full of ignorance, because if you haven't heard the quote already, " The ignorant has a better chance of survival. ", that is the prime rule of western and advanced countries, including here in Canada.

I just love how you completely ignored the over 10 million Soviet civilians who died during the Invasion of the Soviet Union by the Nazi. Instead you just focused yourself on the 5 million overall Jewish deaths, just like you were dictated to.

Please fix that ignorance, I just hate it when I see people thinking Hitler merely killed 6 million innocent Jews, when his kill counts goes over 20 million.

I wonder if the dramas were any good.

Here:
Free Asia (RFA), a non-profit organization that operates a radio station and internet news source, recently published a story about North Korean celebrities being forgotten due to the Hallyu Wave. Apparently, South Korean movies and dramas are spreading like wildfire inside the isolated country and are devouring low-quality North Korean films. According to an insider in North Korea, "I don't know anything about new North Korean songs or movies that have been released. There are only 3-4 [North Korean] films that are produced each year, but since there are so many South Korean movies laying around, no one pays attention to our [North Korean] films." Not only are North Korean films low in quality due to insufficient budgets, they lack creativity and are considered boring because all the material only praises Kim Il Sung's family. Thus, it was reported that citizens and young people completely ignore films and entertainment produced by their country. North Korean celebrities are suffering significantly due to the Hallyu Wave, mainly because South Korean celebrities are gaining much popularity, while North Korean celebrities are becoming forgotten. Multiple insiders state, "People related to the North Korean entertainment business ignore the demands of the people and solely focus on Kim Jong Il's propaganda. People can expect to see the end of North Korea's entertainment industry". North Korean youths who defected from the country were able to name several South Korean films including 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Scent of a Man', while they were unable to recall any names of actors/actresses from a particular North Korean film. It's not just North Korean movies and dramas going down the drain -- the music industry is declining as well. An insider explained, "All songs, including new ones, involve chants and praises for Kim Jong Il or the Worker's Party. No one wants to listen to them." South Korean netizens were quite amused by the news and commented, "Aren't all North Korean songs practically hymns that praise that dictator pig?", "There are celebrities in North Korea? That kind of occupation exists? Wow", and "I can feel the end of North Korea nearing..".

Who would want to watch shows on how awesome their leader is? Better than all of their films.
