I looked but haven't come across this as a topic so yeah... might get locked I dunno, might as well post it.

So I re watch Black Lagoon regularly as I own the DvD set and all the published. I wish I had the Gen Urobuchi novels but hey, oh well.

So the more and more I watch the anime and read the manga the more I see the GLARING plot holes of the anime in my face. I've re watched plenty of series but I usually don't notice any but Black Lagoon is a special case in its anime adaptation. So I felt like sharing what I noticed share what you've found as well

Now the anime of Black Lagoon is special because its actually out of order. The anime goes:
Black Lagoon-> Ring Ding Ship Chase-> Die Ruckkehr des Adlers-> Calm Down 2 Men-> Rasta Blasta-> Bloodsport Fairytale-> Goat, Jihad, Rock 'n' Roll-> Greenback Jane-> Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise-> El Baile de la Muerte .

And the manga goes:
Black Lagoon-> Ring Ding Ship Chase-> Rasta Blasta-> Die Ruckkehr des Adlers-> Calm Down 2 Men-> Bloodsport Fairytale-> Goat, Jihad, Rock 'n' Roll-> Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise-> Greenback Jane-> El Baile de la Muerte

1. Revy's attitude and relationship with Rock.

This one strikes hard in the anime's Rasta Blast arc.

Rock and Revy's, well from Revy's side anyway, relationship can be best outlined as such.

I don't this guy (Ship Chase)-> Exceedingly Antagonistic towards Rock (Rasta Blasta)-> I'm gonna shot this freaking guy (Die Ruckkehr) -> Make up (Calm Down 2 Men)-> Warming up (Goat, Jihad)-> Se... Err "Good" Friends (Fujiyama).

Now after Calm Down 2 Men they start to warm up to each other so going to BACK to the Roberta arc is makes no sense since Revy's hair trigger temper is locked onto every word coming out of Rock's mouth.

2. Why are you under the table?!

THIS is inexcusable. No questions asked. So in the manga the gang was already in the bar when Roberta started shooting (they came in after Roberta, but before the Colombians) so it makes sense that they hid under a table when the the fight started.

In the anime THEY ARE STANDING IN A DOORWAY, when Roberta fires her first shell and the next time we see them there under a table in the middle of the bar... HOW?!

3. Eda's affilation to the
.

Not so much a hole but just bad writing honestly. Eda's reveal serves as the direct lead in to the Baile de la Muerte arc. Here its just sort of forgotten once it's brought up... weird. Though understandable from a season 2 closing perspective.

And finally. 4. The using the drinking scene twice.

This is totally passable... somewhat. Its was implied that Revy and Rock shagged in Japan, when Eda asked Revy if she sampled the goods over some drinks before Jane showed up. This scene was essentially re used at the very end of the anime and almost with the same dialog too.

So those are all the one I've seen. What about you guys?

Go on over and share your stuff there--I'm sure it could use some new activity.

(my secret for finding topics on CR is that after you hit search the first time--which usually gives you an enormous list of post matches--you need to hit the search icon on the search page and voila! the matching topics appear.
