Do any of you out there find yourself bored with anime at times? I find myself a bit, bored with it I guess, and not wanting to watch it for a time about two to three times a year. I love anime, and I always come back to it, sometimes with a gusto after not watching it, and I usually keep up on the shows that I watch weekly that come out during these times, but I don't watch any other new anime during these time periods. Now, I do watch other things as well other than just anime, so it's not like I'm watching anime all the time, but the majority of what I watch is anime.

I was just wondering if anyone else felt this way or has experienced this about watching anime, and possibly why. I checked and it didn't seem like there were any topics like this already. Also, yay for me for posting my first forum topic.

I went about four years without watching anime, I had burnt myself out of it and was more interested in managing a hardcore progression guild that my ex and I had started. But all good things eventually come to an end, and I found myself back where I started.

Only when nothing new or interesting is out, then I go play video games.

watching chart
90% anime
5% television
5% youtube tutorials/asmr

exceptions: How to train your Dragon and Star Wars

I do, I think it's what keeps me from starting One Piece and Naruto, and while I DO like the Bleach dub I only watch it not so much because I like the voices but more because it forces me to only get one new episode a week instead of rushing through and finishing it all (before youtube took most of it off I watched episodes 20-168 in way too short of a time frame to be considered healthy). That's also why I've been watching a lot of the new shows instead of the older stuff. I take it in moderation to not get burned out so that when I do come across an old show that's good I CAN watch it from beginning to end without feeling like it's a chore.

I definitely go through spells for just about everything. Games, television, anime, you name it. During these spells I'll easily go nuts and file through everything that catches my eye and avert my attention from every other medium. I can only put my attention into one or the other and everything becomes boring. I can't stand sitting through a show because I wanna put a controller in my hands, and sometimes can't stand playing a game because I wanna throw my imagination to the wind and watch anime.

After it's over though I get burnt out enough not to bother with anything for about a few years. It's horribly inefficient and after exhausting my resources I can easily find myself with naught to do. But try as I may to spread out my interests it just doesn't ever happen, lol.

Yes, because it's almost a chore to watch all these episodes. Watching anime is like play games to me. I can watch and play for days, then for a week I wouldn't do neither one of them.

At some point you've seen it all before.
No real hook
nothing new to the table

Go back to the old stuff, check out the first 15 of the new stuff.

It happens, give it a break, try again later.

This. This is how I've felt for quite a while now. The last time that something caught my attention was the first episodes of Squid Girl and The World God Only Knows. Everything else, to me, is exactly what Frostbrand said-All stuff I've seen before.

With the current animes they're putting out, I do find it a bit boring. So, I tend either re-watch some of my favorites or really search for one that I haven't seen before that also interests me. I have hope for the winter season coming out though
