I usually watch 2 to 4 episodes a day, sometimes 6 if I'm really bored, or have no duties to do or to complete. If I am running errands or I'm just out and about for the day or night, I sometimes don't watch anything, It's just too physically tiring. I notice I take breaks from it after a few weeks that last up to 3 to 4 days.

I'm like that with most things that affect my imagination, or to be more accurate, what my imagination affects. I could say that the cartoons have changed, and they have, but that's not entirely true because I've changed too. Looking for new animes is tiring, and I rarely get past the first or second episode when I try something new because they're all terrible. So what I do is go through old animes I previously enjoyed and watch them again. Not that I always get through them neither.

I need to fall in love again and get my heart broken so I can enjoy anime again. How pathetically mushy, yack.

Yes, if that's all you do all day it will eventually get boring...looks like someone became upset enough to report this thread

For me, bored isn't the right word. I can't watch anime and play RPG's at the same time due to time issues. When a good RPG comes out I focus on that until I'm done with it. I'm a 100% completion type player, so my anime breaks can go anywhere from days to months.

Kinda weird, but that's how it is.

I've been burning out on weekly upkeep pretty regularly (I'm 2-4 weeks behind in almost everything I'm watching this season, and I'm 8 weeks behind on Monogatari). I eventually get back into gear and marathon my way back up though.

I just went through a mutual break up earlier this week, so nothing is enjoyable for me at the moment.

Except Hunter x Hunter, I still look forward to that anime even though my world is falling apart. I suppose that's how much I love that show xD

If HxH ends, I'll still have Flowers of Evil season 2 and Chihayafuru season 3 (I think they'll make it) to look forward to... I suppose it's all about finding that one (or two) animes that really speaks something to you at a molecular level.

(I don't know why I'm being poetic right now)

It happens

You either take a break or you start watching stuff outside your comfort zone

That's how my viewing tastes went from Shonen action to Shojo romance to slice of life to sports

For me it's a little different I'm always inside my house and I get bored. I sometimes don't even feel like watching some shows mainly because I want to get out of my house. There are shows I've seen countless of times while other shows are not for me. I just need time away from it all then once I do go back to watch some shows I'll savor each moment. I need a busy lifestyle badly.

Well, I can't say that I've gotten bored of anime ever since I started 14 years ago. But I've definitely experienced spells where new anime just aren't appealing. That's when I kick back and re-visit my old favorites.

Re-watching certain episodes of DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, and series like Full Metal Panic, FMP Fumoffu, Hajime no Ippo, Clannad, etc etc (there are too many honestly ) never grows old ^_^

I do whatever entertains me. I watch anime casually so it never really gets to be boring for me...

Yup. I get bored from time to time. I'll be really into anime for a couple months, but then the next couple months, I'll be done with it. I do this with all my hobbies. I tend to cycle them. If I'm not watching anime, I'm reading or writing or playing games or watching other TV or actually getting out of the house and doing something with my life... Yeah. Cycles.

Guess it matters how long we are defining the "dry spell" as... usually I go through a cycle... a couple weeks of nothing but anime, a couple of weeks of nothing but manga, a couple weeks of nothing but video games, then a few weeks on all of it mixed up. (obviously with my obligations of getting out of the house in this time so only talking about free time here)

Every once in awhile though, maybe like once or twice a year, I will throw in a few weeks of stuff I don't normally do, like nothing at all (yes there has been times I literally just sat around doing NOTHING except maybe read stuff on forums or facebook), drawing (which I suck at), reading actual books not manga, stuff like that.

So longest i'd say I don't watch ANY anime at all is maybe 2 weeks? And that might be pushing it a bit.

there was a time when I thought I was tired of anime... turns out my tastes had just changed on me, and the anime I was currently watching was something I would've liked before, but not after.
